Plot[]

A singer named Catty Carlisle is invited to the REBL studios by Mad Dog Max. Catty starts singing a song in a Texas style as she dedicates it to "Mobius' number one hero, Sonic".

Meanwhile, Scratch and Grounder are on a mission to capture Sonic by using a bear trap. As the two get distracted by a radio playing 'Sonic's Song', Sonic comes and makes fools of them and they get trapped instead. Scratch and Grounder go back to Robotnik and he gets upset that Catty is singing a song about Sonic. So Scratch and Grounder head to REBL studios and try to capture Catty but Sonic dresses as an interviewer and distracts the two by saying that they have just become instant stars on radio. As that happens, Robotnik decides on another plan by making only one song in the whole of Mobius that is Robotnik's anthem, so he creates the Music Destroyer (M.D.) to put an end to all other music. After he captures Catty, Sonic and Tails try to save her but end up being captured themselves. Sonic manages to trick Scratch and Grounder into freeing them and plays very loud rock music to destroy the M.D. Sonic returns Catty's guitar and she walks into the sunset with Sonic and Tails, singing Sonic's song.

Sonic Says[]

Sonic teaches the audience that music through headphones can affect their hearing, and also make them unaware of their surroundings.

Goofs[]

  • When Dr. Robotnik gets shot up in the air after the Music Destroyer explodes, the right side of his pants are coloured red as apposed to black.

Trivia[]

  • The alternate name of this episode is "Sing It Again, Sonic".
  • Sonic himself would actually sing a few times later on in the series, most notably in the first episode of the Quest for the Chaos Emeralds saga, "Black Bot the Pirate".
  • Clips from this episode were used in "Hero of the Year".
  • Sonic's Song that Catty wrote is the game's theme music/invincibility music with added lyrics.
    • There are a few missing lyrics, since the second was talked over, not used often, or was not given a soundtrack release as well as the rest of the BGM for the Show.
  • The blaster Robotnik uses to shoot at Scratch and Grounder looks identical to the Subatomic Slow-go Beam Weapon from "Slowwww Going".
  • Among the records shown in the recording room for REBL Radio, there are several that show the names of actual musical artists, including Dr. Dre, ABBA, KISS, and Janet Jackson.
  • When Sonic and Tails go into the room with all the stolen instruments, Sonic picks up a guitar and poses with it and says "Check out my Eddie Van Hedgehog Impression" which is a reference to Eddie Van Halen of the band, Van Halen.
  • M.D.'s last line "hasta la vista, baby!" is a reference to T-800 in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
