Sonic's 6th Birthday Celebration was an event that took place in 1997 at the Hamleys Toy Store in London (not far from the Trocadero, where SegaWorld London was housed). The event was advertised in a contest in Sonic the Comic, where fans could send in fanmade comics to win tickets to go to this event. The event was two hours long, and highlights were that guests would get to eat a cake with Sonic's face on it, play the then unreleased Sonic R, and meet a costumed Sonic character.^[1]
