Sonic - Super Hedgehog (Соник Супер Ёжик Sonik Super Yozhik) was a Russian quiz show that was broadcasted in 1994 on RTR in Russia. It featured popular Sega games for the Sega Mega Drive and Master System.

Description[]

The game show would start out with the opening credits where Sonic rides in on a motorcycle before jumping onto a helicopter with Sega's logo on it, which is then shot down by a combat jet and explodes. Sonic then jumps out of the explosion and emerges from a TV screen before the episode's title page shows up on the screen. The host of the program was the Russian actor Yevgeny Alekseevich Stychkin (Евгений Алексеевич Стычкин).

The show was a game show featuring teams of participants consisting of a child and their legal guardian. These participants had to answer questions and take part in related challenges. The game show consisted mostly of two rounds, while the third round was reserved for situations that required extra time. The first round consisted of questions, while the second round consisted of various challenges based on different games for the Sega Mega Drive. In the event of a tie, each team would receive rewards based on their position in the challenge. Losing teams would usually receive various merchandise, posters, T-shirts, Sonic the Hedgehog 2-themed watches, and better video game consoles, such as a Sega Game Gear or Master System. The main prizes given to the winning contestants were a Sega Mega Drive 2 and a few games.

The show would also feature a cartoon Sonic that would occasionally appear in the right hand corner of the screen talking in a high pitch voice to the contestants of the show.
