The Sonic Badge is an object that appears in Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal. It is a special award which is used to unlock levels in the game.

Description

The Sonic Badge is a blue ring with a white dot and wing on the left and right.

Overview

In gameplay, the Sonic Badges are used to unlock the levels in Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, with each level (except for Seaside Beach, Tails' Workshop, Sonic's Shack and Sticks' Burrow) requiring its own specific amount of badges. This amount increases as the player processes with the game.

To earn a Sonic Badge, the player must fulfill the objectives given for a level. This include clearing the level, collecting all six of its Blueprints or finding all five of its Crystal Shards. However, there cannot be earned more than one Sonic Badge from each objective. A total of thirty-four Sonic Badges can be obtained in the game.

Trivia

  • The Sonic Badge is based on the Sonic logo on the title screen of the Sonic games for the Sega Genesis and Sega Game Gear consoles, like the original Sonic the Hedgehog.
  • The Sonic Badge shares a similar design and function as the Emblem: both are based on the Sonic logo, can be collected, and unlock rewards.
