Sonic Billiards (ソニック ビリヤード[6] Sonikku Biriyādo?) is a mobile phone game released as a part of the Sonic Cafe service offered by Sega. The game was later re-released with updated graphics and a new user interface.[7]
Gameplay[]
In Sonic Billiards, the player plays as Sonic in a nine-ball game of billiards. The game has two modes:
- Single player (一人用[6] Ichi ninyō?): The player goes up against a computer controlled opponent.
- VS Mode[7] (対戦[6] Taisen?, lit. "Battle"): Standard multiplayer where players take turns by passing the mobile phone around.
The player chooses the direction to shoot in, after confirming a power gauge appears on the right side of the screen. The green bar rises and falls to signify the power behind the shot. The option to put spin on the ball is also given after confirming the direction, displayed on the ball above the power gauge.
The winner is whoever sinks the final ball. Upon winning in Single Player mode, the player earns experience points that contribute to their level. The higher the player's level, the further the guideline reaches, making it easier to line up shots. Player levels are also sorted on a national leaderboard.
