The Sonic-Cyclone is a technique that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It is a trick regularly employed by Sonic the Hedgehog.
Description[]
Utilizing his super-speed, Sonic runs in circles around a target, whipping up a tornado whose size can match the mightiest of twisters.[1] By performing it in different environments, Sonic can add elements such as water or sand to his vortex to overwhelm his opponents.[2][3]
The effects of the technique vary from putting out fires,[4] to starting fires through friction,[5] to countering the rotation of larger objects,[6] to creating a funnel of speed to slow others' fall,[7] to breaking out of prisons,[8] to blowing enemies and objects away,[1][9][10][11] to compressing the air pressure on enemies to either squeeze them or create explosions,[12][13] to confusing and immobilizing opponents,[14] to redirecting electrical energy,[15] to simply tearing the target to shreds in the slipstream.[16][17] As Super Sonic, the Sonic-Cyclone is enhanced to the point that Sonic can extinguish a whole volcano.[18]
In a variation of the Sonic Cyclone, Sonic can move at high speeds around things such as bombs or missiles to encase them in a "cocoon of speed," allowing him to safely contain the explosion within the vortex.[19][20]
