At the start of each Zone Map is a Factory Ring that leads to the Sonic Factory. Here you can transport to Zones that have previously been cleared, change the player characters, and check your game progress in the Chao Playground.

— Description, Sonic Advance 3[1]

The Sonic Factory[1] (ソニックファクトリー[2] Sonikkufakutorī?) is the hub world of Sonic Advance 3. It serves as Sonic's and his friends' personal base,[2] from which the player can do a variety of things.

Description[]

The Sonic Factory is a small room with large blocks with a white outline and curved edges. The background consists of orange and green blocks that move downwards.

Gameplay[]

In the Sonic Factory, the player has the same moveset as in normal gameplay, except that they cannot perform Tag Actions.

Overview[]

When entering the Sonic Factory, the characters will be standing on the bottom right of the area. Moving to the left will lead to a Spring, which they must use to enter two other portions of this room. Conversely, by running to the bottom right of the Sonic Factory, the player will be in the designed Zone's Zone Map.

There are three different gameplay mechanics in the Sonic Factory, which are listed as follows:

  • Character Select Room (キャラクターセレクトルーム[2] Kyarakutā Serekuto Rūmu?): Found at the bottom of the area. It is a red pipe that, when entered, allows the player to switch their player and partner character.
  • Chao Playground:[1] Also known as Chao's Playground (チャオの遊び場[2] Chao no asobiba?). It is a room accessed from the left of the Sonic Factory. Here, the player can see the Hidden Chao they have found.
  • Zone Pipe (ゾーンパイプ[2] Zōn Paipu?): Akin to a Level Select. It is found at the top area. It consists of several monitors with numbers that represent their respective Zones. These monitors also have a pipe at the bottom, which, if entered, leads the player to that Zone's Sonic Factory.
