Sonic Man (ソニックマン,Sonikkuman?), alternatively spelled as Sonicman, is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is a strange individual who mimics Sonic the Hedgehog.
Sonic Man is a tall and slightly muscular human with tan skin who dresses up similar to Sonic by wearing a blue helmet with spikes resembling Sonic’s quills and a visor that covers his eyes. He sports white gloves with ring cuffs, blue jeans, red shoes resembling Sonic's, and a T-shirt that sports the title screen emblem from the original Sonic the Hedgehog.
History[]
Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)[]
In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Sonic Man met Silver the Hedgehog in Soleanna New City. Wanting to show off his “racing prowess”, he challenges the white hedgehog to another race in Soleanna Castle Town, only to lose. Embarrassed, Sonic Man simply states that he was "just warming up" and lies that he hears someone in need of help as an excuse to leave. Later, Sonic Man would meet Sonic himself, though he assumed that Sonic is merely one of his fans in a costume, and denied that the hedgehog was the real Sonic. Sonic Man challenged him to a race through Soleanna New City to see who the real Sonic is, only to lose. After that, he realized that the blue hedgehog must be the real Sonic and snapped out of his delusion. Sonic Man was predictably starstruck over meeting Sonic, asking if he could have his autograph and if he could be his apprentice.

Personality[]
Sonic Man is a Sonic fanatic, showing his admiration by dressing in Sonic cosplay. Sonic Man idolizes Sonic, wanting to be just like him. At some point, his obsession with Sonic became so intense that it would turn to delusion, causing him to begin believing he was Sonic himself and that he had super-speed, while at the same time not recognizing the real Sonic the Hedgehog when confronted. Sonic Man acted cocky and self-absorbed, claiming to be a superhero and bragging about “his” heroic deeds. He believed that he was famous and acted annoyed towards those who disregarded his "supersonic powers" or did not recognize him. However, after Sonic beat him in a race, he realized he was the real Sonic and snapped out of his delusion.
