Sonic Man is a resident of Soleanna from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). He is a very strange person who dresses up like Sonic the Hedgehog by wearing a spiky blue helmet, white gloves with ring cuffs, and a T-shirt that sports the title screen emblem from Sonic 1. Not only that, but he claims to be the real hedgehog, boasting that he's a superhero while making statements such as "I saved Princess Elise and I fight bad guys". He believes that he is a lot more famous and celebrated than he really is, and acts cynically towards those who either disregard his "supersonic powers" or do not know him.
In Sonic's story, Sonic Man gives Sonic his fourteenth Town Mission. The delusional Sonic Man assumes that Sonic is merely one of his fans in a costume, and offers him an autograph, which he declines. He denies that Sonic is the real hedgehog and challenges him to a race through New City to see who the real hero is. In the race, Sonic makes very short work of Sonic Man, who even copies Sonic's running stance by putting his hands behind his back. When Sonic Man has been thrashed in the race, he is shocked to have found out that he's met the real thing, asking "Can I have your autograph?" and "Can I be your apprentice?"
In Silver's story, Sonic Man gives Silver his fifteenth Town Mission. This time, the insane fan wants to show off his racing "prowess" to Silver, who looks at him doubtfully. This is another race, although this one is held in Castle Town. Even though Silver is much slower than Sonic, he is still very capable of beating Sonic Man to the finish line, mostly through levitating and using his air dash-like teleportation technique. When Silver wins the race, Sonic Man states that he was "just warming up" and leaves after supposedly hearing someone in need of help.
- Shadow is the only character with Town Missions who does not meet Sonic Man.
