FANDOM


This is a set of general guidelines to follow when creating and editing mainspace articles concerning a a group related to the Sonic the Hedgehog series franchise. Although this is an official guide, editors are encouraged to stray from them if it will improve the overall quality of the article.

Legend

  • Yellow boxes are general guidelines meant to pertain to the main text on the page.
  • Green boxes are guidelines for headers.
  • Red boxes are guidelines for anything else.

Some main space pages regarding the subject may have an abundance of images and screenshots available which make render the page unnecessarily large and difficult to navigate. A separate gallery-tab page (If there are sixteen images inside the gallery) from the main Group page is to be created and placed at the very top, here.
The "Infobox group" template is to be inserted here. Information in regards to the group are to be filled as much as possible including, but not limited to; Their first appearance, time(s) of formation, list of prominent members, alignment and status etc.
Add a quote here. Preferably a short description of the group from official sources such as a game's manual or a quote said by a character in regards to the group. The 'Quote left' template is to be used here.
This is the summary. The purpose of this is to surmise the group in accordance to the particular media in appears in. Information should include a very brief description of what the group is, its main members (four or five maximum) its in-universe creation or origin, their goals or motivations and the group's significance to the media or story overall.

History

The purpose of this section is to go into detail in regards to the group's History. Each paragraph is to be separated by sub sections in accordance with either games, show seasons, significant story arcs or events.

Game appearances

The Game appearances section is for groups in games only. This section is for info about the group and its appearance in the games it has appeared in. This section is written in place of the History section for the group if the group in question has no biography that is considered canon in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Examples includes games where the group only appears as a playable entity without being involved in the storyline, crossover games, or games where the group is only mentioned or makes minor cameos. Alternatively, this section is written instead of the history section if the editor deems it necessary to not only elaborate on the group's in-universe role in the game (like in the History section), but also things like its gameplay mechanics, integration into gameplay, and its game controls.
For each game that the group appears in and the info on character there, there must be added a header which is called the same name as the game the character appears in. Do always use references when possible, especially to highlight certain key events or info.

Tactics

This is the tactics section. The purpose of this is to surmise the group's prominent tactics, strategy patterns and overall behavior when carrying out a missions. This can be elaborated upon by involving the group's overall ideals and values.

Equipment

This is the equipment section. Here, the editor must make a list of the prominent equipment used by this group using bullet points (*). When an object is listed, it must be followed by a brief description. For example:
  • Blue Force One: Sonic's personal traveling vehicle for non-runnable areas.
This section is mainly reserved for the vehicles utilized by the group, but it can be used to elaborate on anything the group's utilizes which demands more elaboration than what can surmised in the "Equipment and/or weaponry" section in the "template:Infobox group", like the different types of Badniks used by the Egg Army cells.

Uniform

This is the uniform section. If the group's members share a common uniform, this section is used to describe the uniform's appearance.

In other media

A link to each different media's group article are to be placed here in the form of the "main" template.
The purpose of this section is to go into detail in regards to the appearance of the group in a media which is different from the one being discussed here. For example, if the group in discussion is about one which occurs in a game (or games), then this section should include a brief description of ones in media such as novels, television shows, comic books etc. This should be similar in construction to the introductory summary. Information should include a very brief description of what the group is, its main members (four or five maximum) its in-universe creation or origin, their goals or motivations and the group's significance to the media or story overall. Each media should be separated into sub sections.

Theme songs

The purpose of this section is to provide a list and summary of theme songs (if any) related to this group in each of their respective media. Each theme song is to be divided by bullet points, with links to their respective song pages. A short paragraph description of what the song is about and what point in time of that media it begins to play can be added here
A link to each different media's theme song are to be placed here in the form of the bullet points.

Trivia

The Trivia section is about small pieces of information about the group that do not fit in any of the sections above. Here, the editor must make a list of these little-known facts by using bullet points (*), where each piece of information being given its own paragraph. Be careful of what you list, however, as it is required that the Trivia is informative, not lengthy and pointless.
