Sonic using Sonic Wind on Shadow the Hedgehog.
|Statistics and Overview|
A powerful blue wind that wraps up and damages the opponent.
The Sonic Wind is one of Sonic the Hedgehog's special moves in Sonic Adventure 2 and its remake, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. When performing this technique, Sonic damages his opponents with a blue wind current.
The Sonic Wind is used during Sonic's battle with Shadow the Hedgehog on board the Space Colony ARK, but only as the final boss of the Dark story. Outside of that, this is one technique Sonic cannot perform in the gameplay of Story Mode. However, he can perform it in the games' two-player mode, but only when he has gathered enough Rings.
When perfoming Sonic Wind, Sonic will raise his right fist and shout "Sonic Wind". Sonic will then create a small cyclone made of sharp, sky blue winds, that will wrap around and ensnare his opponent, wherever the opponent is located, causing damage.
In Story Mode, Sonic will perform this technique if Shadow trails behind on the runway, and the technique can be evaded by running forward; after Sonic's health have been reduced to 2/5, Shadow must allow Sonic to use Sonic Wind in order to create an opening for an attack
In the games' two-player mode, where two players go up against each other in race to the Goal Ring, the player controlling Sonic is able to execute the Sonic Wind. However, in order to gain access to the Sonic Wind technique, the player must collect at least 40 Rings. Once the player has collected enough Rings, the Sonic Wind can be performed freely. In two-player mode, it is nearly impossible for the opposing player to avoid Sonic Wind, unless the other player is Metal Sonic, who can use his Black Shield to protect himself from these type of attack.
