Sonic X-Treme is a book written by Michael Teitelbaum and illustrated by Ron Zalme. It was published in the US by Troll Communications in 1997.

While this book is based off of the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon's story and characters, Robotnik is quite noticeably the version from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon.

Plot

Bunnie Rabbot has been kidnapped and is being held in an undisclosed location. Robotnik challenges Sonic to an extreme sports challenge, promising to release Bunnie if Sonic bests him in a wide variety of events. Even though Sonic knows it to be a lie, he accepts the challenge in order to distract Robotnik while the rest of the Freedom Fighters uncover the location of Bunnie and stage a rescue.
