Sonic the Hedgehog - "Megatox"[]

Synopsis[]

On planet Mobius, ruled by Robotnik, the penguin Bob Beaky reports for the work detail in the Chemical Plant Zone. Once inside, he sees the magnitude of it: the Emerald Hill Folk are being forced into hard labour, and Trooper Badniks whip those who don't work fast enough. Seeing a poor squirrel about to be struck like this, Bob Beaky suddenly sheds his coat and reveals himself to be Sonic the Hedgehog!

Sonic quickly destroys the Troopers, not needing to hold back because they do not contain organic batteries, unlike other Badniks. Realizing that they cannot escape through the front gate, because of all the guards, Sonic leads the captives into the tunnel system. One is suddenly snatched by a Grabber Badnik, but Sonic destroys it and releases the captive badger inside: he had been trapped inside as punishment for not working hard enough.

As they wade through the pink sludge in the sewers (called Mega Mack), Sonic is suddenly attacked by a being comprised entirely out of this pink liquid: the Malignant Megatox! Megatox was once a scientist working with Doctor Robotnik to invent the Mega Mack, a substance whose only purpose is to kill Sonic, until an accident transformed him into this new and deadly form. He doesn't manage to drown Sonic, but it doesn't matter: merely being in contact with the slime will soon poison Sonic anyway! Sonic tries to rip Megatox apart with a spin, and it seems to succeed until Megatox reforms... having duplicated himself four times! Megatox is indestructible, being the very embodiment of the Mega Mack!

Now tired of the boasting, Sonic tunnels through the floor to outside the factory, then creates a propeller effect to suck Megatox into the hole and spray him across the countryside. Sonic doesn't know whether Megatox will be able to reform, but it doesn't matter: he and the Emerald Hill Folk have escaped!

Kid Chameleon - "Kid Chameleon, Part 4"[]

  • Script: Michael Cook
  • Art: Brian Williamson/Steve White
  • Lettering: Ellie de Ville

Teenager Casey, now Eyeclops, follows the trail of the sewer-men who kidnapped his friend Suzi. He follows them to a dead end, but can see light streaming through the cracks in the wall. He speaks the word "Chameleon" and transforms into the fly-sized hero Micromax, who can easily fit through the cracks. He frees Suzi, who hides, but finds that he can no longer see the invisible sewer-men, who manage to capture him.

He tries to turn back into Eyeclops by saying "Chameleon", but he cannot control the transformations and instead becomes the hulking (and slightly dim-witted) Bezerker. As Bezerker, he grabs Suzi and smashes through a wall. Suzi directs him to a teleport pad, hoping that it'll be a way out. When he stands on it, he is congratulated by the mysterious Voice and warned that the next world will be the most challenging: when the two of them appear, they are nearly run over by an enormous red tank!

Streets of Rage - "Streets of Rage, Part 4"[]

  • Script: Mark Millar
  • Art: Peter Richardson
  • Lettering: Tom Frame

Ninja attack Axel Stone's hospital room, intending to bring his head to their boss: Hawk. Just before they make the killing blow, Axel regains consciousness.

Hawk has already captured Max Hatchet, who is tied up in Hawk's foundry. Blaze Fielding arrives to investigate, having tracked Hawk through several informants. However, she is captured too and brought before Hawk, who takes her police transmitter and throws it away. Hawk plans to kill Blaze and Max for interfering in his plans: it's not revenge, just good business sense.

However, before he can pull the trigger, an explosion destroys one wall and Axel arrives, still heavily bandaged but packing heavily artillery. Hawk is horrified, having believed Axel dead, but Axel explains: "Ninjas are wimps, man!"

Decap Attack - "Starring Chuck D. Head! Part 1"[]

  • Script: Nigel Kitching
  • Art: Nigel Kitching
  • Lettering: Steve Potter

Professor Frank N. Stein (Prof) is a mad scientist who speaks with a heavy German accent, despite being from Cardiff, and laughs maniacally during all really important experiments (like a good mad scientist should). Along with his assistant, Igor (who has a predilection for smashing talking bats with a giant mallet), Prof plans to create a son for himself by resurrecting a man he has sewn together from the parts of different bodies. He has Igor raise the body up on a red scaffold into a thunderstorm until it is struck by lightning. Amazingly, this succeeds, and his new "son" wonders who he is. Prof attempts to produce a note with his name on, but it is covered in blood and only the words "Chuck D--" remains: Prof cannot remember what the second name was.

Prof explains that after being killed by an exploding landmine (Chuck thought it was a dud, apparently), the only part that the Prof was able to salvage was Chuck's brain. The parts that wouldn't fit in the new body (Igor provided a head that was too small) he put instead inside a talking skull named Head.

Just then, Igor is being attacked by talking bats seeking revenge for their fallen comrades, and accidentally collapses some scaffolding on top of Chuck. When he gets up again, his head has completely disappeared! The Prof is furious, until Igor suggests they just stick Head on top and be done with it. The original Chuck is not too happy about this, because his real head is still intact... it's just somehow inside his torso now. Suddenly, the Prof thinks up the perfect name: Chuck D. Head!
