Sonic the Hedgehog (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ[2] Sonikku za Hejjihoggu?) is a mobile phone game and a re-release of the 16-bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog (1991), released as part of the Sonic Cafe service offered by Sega. The game was created as part of the Sonic the Hedgehog series' (and the original Sonic the Hedgehog's) 10th anniversary celebration, and was downloadable for free between 18 June and 31 July 2001.[1]
Gameplay[]
In this game, the player plays as Sonic running through the available Zone in the typical style: collecting Rings, defeating Badniks, and getting a score based on how quickly the Act was cleared.
The top of the screen features a Ring count on the left and a timer on the right. Said timer begins at 1000 and counts down as the Zone is played through.
Scoring[]
No points are awarded during gameplay, with points only being gained when the score is being tallied upon completing the Zone.
End of Act tally[]
- Ring Bonus: 50 points per Ring
- Time Bonus: (T x 10) - 10, where T equals the remaining time upon completing the Zone[note 1]
