History

Shattered World Crisis

Act 1

StH 264 Soumerca Egg Army

The Soumerca's Chaos Emerald digging operation, from Sonic the Hedgehog #264.

Sometime during the formation of the Egg Army, Thunderbolt was positioned as the Egg Boss. Eventually, Dr. Eggman had set up an ambush at the Soumerca Egg Army to destroy the New Freedom Fighters as punishment for stealing a Chaos Emerald from an excavation site located at Crystal Cave.[1] Sometime later, E-113 Xi was entrusted to the Soumerca Egg Army, who had encountered three of the Freedom Fighters–Sonic the Hedgehog, Sally Acorn, and Amy Rose–at Rocky Jungle Zone, to which the heroes were there to retrieve a Chaos Emerald located at the Soumerca Egg Army base. Fortunately, Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel managed to subdue the robot, which angered Thunderbolt, who was told that the plan Eggman gave to the Egg Army was ready. Later that night, Sonic, Amy, Sally, Mighty, and Ray had went to the Soumerca Egg Army base and destroyed the Badnik forces there. As they prepared to acquire the emerald, Thunderbolt and her minions activated their ambush; an electrical beam that electrocuted the heroes. The stress of the situation got to Sonic, transforming him into Sonic the Werehog, who proceeded to decimate and scatter the Egg Army forces.[2][3]

Determined to redeem herself and her unit in Eggman's eyes, Thunderbolt ordered the construction and deployment of the Flying Dynamo against Sonic, but it was handily destroyed.[4][5] Some of the soldiers of this unit later watched the Chaos Emerald Championship, only to be caught by an irked Thunderbolt.[6]

Act Two

Thunderbolt was soon called to battle in a large-scale assault against the Naugus twins and after she completed the mission, she returned to find that a small faction had found Master Emerald shards while scouting and she ordered them to be stored away for later use.[7][8] Unfortunately, the shards were tracked down by Knuckles the Echidna and he infiltrated the Soumerca Egg Army base alongside Mighty, Ray and Amy Rose. Thunderbolt and the Egg Army tried with all their might to keep the intruders at bay but failed.[9]
