Asteroid Coaster is one example of a stage with a space theme.
The space theme is a stage theme that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
Elements common among space stages include the ability to switch the direction of gravity, meteorites and asteroids as obstacles, celestial bodies as either set pieces or background decor, and space stations as the main setting.
Having a very loose criteria to meet, any stage can be a space themed stage so long as said stage is set in outer space, even if there is very limited space elements in the stage.
Most space stages appear during the end of the game, and more often than not, are usually where the player fights in a Super-form exclusive boss fight and/or level, such as the Doomsday Zone.
