Spike's Place is a location that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It is one of the most notorious bars in the Metropolis Zone, catering to thugs and lowlifes of the worst order. They serve a beer on tap called "Dictator", which has Doctor Robotnik's face on it, as well as Cola and KP nuts. The barman is a bulldog with an eyepatch.
History
Sonic the Hedgehog went on the run after believing he had killed his friends as Super Sonic. He wound up in Spike's Place, where the locals soon discovered who he was and plotted to capture him and give him to Robotnik for the reward money. However, Sonic had recently overdosed on Emerald Energy and quickly turned into the rampaging Super Sonic again, in which form he destroyed the bar and caused all the patrons to flee.[1]
Trivia
- Although it is not specified, the bulldog barman may be Spike, the presumed owner of the bar. This may be a reference to the bulldog character Spike from Tom and Jerry cartoons.
