— Description, Sonic the Hedgehog Encyclo-speed-ia

Spring Yard is a racecourse that appears in Sonic Drift. It is a racing track located in the Spring Yard Zone. It is the third course in all three Chaos GPs available in the game.

Description[]

Spring Yard looks almost identical to the Zone of the same name in the original Sonic the Hedgehog. The main setting of the course is that of a turquoise and teal striped field with various urban constructs and teal net frames on the ground. The sky in Spring Yard is light purple with orange-tinted clouds and in the background there are tall purple mountains. Additionally, in front of the mountains in the background, there is an urban setting in form of several blocky orange buildings with teal net frames on them, orange cylinders and dark apartments. Also, the buildings are in several places adorned with large advertising billboards.

The racing tracks through Spring Yard are mainly colored in alternating blue and electric horizontal stripes with similarly colored rose and white edges. On the sides of the tracks there are also occasionally lone orange cylinders with blue stripes.

Gameplay[]

In Spring Yard, the objective for the player is to race along the laid-out asphalted racetrack against other racers for a top position in the race. Racing outside the border of the asphalt track will cause the player to lose speed immediately. Additionally, the orange cylinders on the outside of the racetracks will cause the playable characters to come to an immediately stop and lose a Ring if they collide with them.

Overview[]

In Marble, the player races on a circular racing track encompassing the entire map. The layout of the racing track in Spring Yard depends on which circuit in the Chaos GP the player chooses. Additionally, each racing track is littered with different power-ups and objects that the player can utilize. On each of the layouts for the Spring Yard race course, the player's objective is to complete three laps of the racetrack.
