The Spy-Scope[1] is an object that appears in Sonic the Hedgehog 2: The Secret Admirer. It is a periscope used by the Knothole Freedom Fighters to scan and survey the surface surrounding their base.

The Spy-Scope is a gray and blue periscope with two handles to turn it around, and an eye-fitting lens.

When it was Sonic's turn to keep an eye out for enemies in the Knothole Freedom Fighters' surroundings, Sonic asked Tails to take his place. When Tails refused, Sonic used the Spy-Scope for himself and saw that a message from an alleged secret admirer had been written on a nearby hill.[1]
