The Star Pointer is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a Badnik variant created by Dr. Eggman and a variant of the Orbinaut.
Appearance
The Star Pointers resemble Orbinaut with a light-grey color scheme and an yellow line across their spherical body. Unlike the Orbinauts though, the Star Pointers have four balls made of ice orbiting their body rather than spiked balls.
History
Star Pointers were employed by Dr. Eggman during his first invasion of Angel Island.[1] They were later deployed as part of the Artika Egg Army's Badnik force where they engaged the New Freedom Fighters in the Cool Edge Zone and later when they fled the Egg Army's captivity.[2]
Powers and abilities
The Star Pointers are capable of levitation, though their main abilities lie in their sharp chunks of ice which they can hold in orbit around them. They act both as weapons and a shield, and can be launched at their foes.
