The Stardust Speedway Zone is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was an area within Collision Chaos Zone - a Zone created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
History
Sonic the Hedgehog battled/raced Mecha Sonic in Stardust Speedway Zone so he could save Tails and Amy Rose from Dr. Robotnik. After many sharp turns and pushovers, Sonic used his Figure-Eight Peel-Out move to get ahead of Mecha Sonic for good. Mecha Sonic tried to match Sonic's speed but was destroyed in the process. Sonic then crossed the finish line and rescued Tails and Amy.[1]
Trivia
- The Stardust Speedway Zone is based on the Round from Sonic the Hedgehog CD.
- Vector and Espio make a cameo appearance in the Stardust Speedway Zone.
- The giant Robotnik statue in the Stardust Speedway Zone uses the design of the Japanese version of Dr. Eggman, unlike the comics' incarnation of Eggman, whose design is derived from his animated counterpart.
