Stripes is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. He is a badger who is a resident of the Emerald Hill Zone. His father is Mister Stripes and he is best friends with a dog named Ruff.

History[]

Stripes and Ruff stumbled across Badnik Sonic destroying Star Posts as part of Dr. Robotnik's plan to eliminate all access to his new Special Zone base. Ruff was convinced that this Badnik was the real Sonic, citing his crazy spikes and ability to spin as proof, although Stripes thought that the being they saw was too large to be Sonic. The two of them were soon ambushed by Badnik versions of themselves, and Stripes was installed as an organic battery in the Badnik Stripes. Ruff and Stripes were later freed when Sonic blackmailed Robotnik into releasing the captives.[1]

Some time later, Stripes joined a cult known as the followers of Dr. Sun in the Mystic Cave Zone. Mister Stripes enlisted Sonic's help to track his son down, but Sonic found that Stripes wanted to stay with Doctor Sun (whether this was his choice or whether he had been brainwashed is not clear). However, when Sonic revealed that Doctor Sun was really Doctor Robotnik, Stripes left with all of the other acolytes, and seemed quite happy to do so. He was presumably reunited with his father.[2]
