The Subatomic Slow-go Beam Weapon[1] is an object that appears in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It is a weapon created by Dr. Robotnik, and powered by the Mobian Mega Crystal.

Features and abilities[]
Using the Mobian Mega Crystal, the Subatomic Slow-go Beam Weapon drastically slows down molecular motion (not mental motion) of anything it hits, living or otherwise. However, its effects are only temporary, and will wear off after one hour. Even one's sounds and voice become slow. If the Mobian Mega Crystal is broken in half and put inside of the weapon however, the Subatomic Slow-go Beam Weapon will speed up things instead.[1]

Season one[]
Before Robotnik managed to explain the Subatomic Slow-go Beam Weapon's properties, Scratch mistook it for an old stove pipe. After Robotnik told him, he put it on his head and bumped into a lot of things, setting Robotnik's lab on fire briefly. While Scratch and Grounder wielded it, they managed to zap Robotnik (twice), a waterfall, some rocks, the alarm gong used by Rocket the Sloth and finally Sonic the Hedgehog, their intended target. Tails took the Subatomic Slow-go Beam Weapon, but was caught. However, when Grounder knocked it out of his hand, the Mobian Mega Crystal broke. Scratch grabbed it and was about to zap Tails when Sonic pulled Scratch's tail feathers, causing Scratch to drop it. Tails the took Subatomic Slow-go Beam Weapon and got back to the Sloth Family where Rocket accidentally fell on it and got zapped by it, which made him fast. Tails used it on the rest of the Sloth Family and made them fast enough to distract Scratch and Grounder while Tails zapped Sonic back to normal with the weapon. Sonic then escaped and trashed the Badniks. Later, Dr. Robotnik appeared in his Egg-O-Matic, and Sonic zapped his vehicle with the Subatomic Slow-go Beam Weapon, thereby putting it in fast motion. While Sonic and his friends then threw the Mobian Mega Crystal into a lake so Robotnik could never find it, the doctor, incapable of controlling his Egg-O-Matic, crashed into a mountain.[1]
Trivia[]
- The Subatomic Slow-go Beam Weapon's design was repurposed as generic rayguns in future episodes, such as "Sonic's Song", "Hedgehog of the "Hound" Table" and "Robotnikland".
