In gameplay, the Super Rings can be found in the main playable levels, where the player can obtain them by touching the item capsules containing them. These capsules' design differs between games. When obtaining a Super Ring, the player is instantly granted multiple Rings at once. Originally, Super Rings only gave ten rings each. However, the amount has since increased, allowing different Super Rings, each granting a certain number of Rings. The amount of Rings these Super Rings grant is shown by the number they display.
Rings granted by Super Rings function like regular Rings, as the player is able to lose them after taking damage, and can be collected again after being dropped.
Sonic Boom: Shattered CrystalEdit
In Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, Super Rings are found exclusively within each adventure level where they can be obtained by opening spherical silver and red item capsules with a Ring inside them. These capsules break when touched can be targeted with the Homing Attack. In this game, the Super Rings grant ten Rings each.
Sonic Dash 2: Sonic BoomEdit
In Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom, the Super Rings vary in the number of Rings they can grant to the player, granting either ten or twenty Rings when obtained. They can be found on the racing courses inside glass capsules with a red cap on the top and bottom, and a Ring with a number (indicating the Super Ring's Ring value) in the middle on the inside.
Type of Super RingsEdit
- The Super Ring is based on the similar power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
- The Super Ring is the only powerup in Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom whose effects are not temporary.
