The Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad, also known as the S6 Squad, is a group that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a three-Badnik group composed of Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts who were originally formed by Dr. Eggman as a team to deal with Sonic the Hedgehog on the field. They have since retired from this job and are now in the employ of Breezie the Hedgehog in Casino Park.

History[]

Early Shenanigans[]

S6 With Hostage Breezie

Breezie "at the mercy" of the S6 Squad, from Sonic the Hedgehog #268.

At some point in time, the S6 Squad was created by Dr. Eggman and deployed to stop Sonic the Hedgehog from rescuing his captured friend Miles "Tails" Prower. In this endeavor they were assisted by Breezie the Hedgehog, who played the part of damsel-in-distress while the trio of robots battled Sonic. Coconuts attacked Sonic at Underground Zone with the assistance of the Super Badnik, Egg Antlion, while Scratch and Grounder prepared to face Sonic with Breezie as their pretend hostage. After Sonic defeated Coconuts and the Egg Antlion, he met up with Scratch and Grounder, who threatened Sonic not to come any closer, but Sonic was able to easily defeat the two robots before they could finish talking.[1] Unbeknownst to Sonic, this played into Eggman's hands, as his intent was to get Sonic to travel with Breezie so that she could pass information to him on Sonic's whereabouts throughout Sonic's adventure to rescue his friend, Tails.[2]

Eventually, the S6 Squad joined up with Breezie the Hedgehog at Casino Park after she founded Breeze Media and began purchasing Dr. Eggman's old robots, which she turned to use as her staff.[1]

Champions[]

Note: From the readers point of view, this picks up from where the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad's original timeline ended.
S6 Find Emerald

The S6 Squad with a Chaos Emerald, from Sonic the Hedgehog #271.

While overseeing repairs to Casino Park due to the Shattered World Crisis, the S6 Squad came across the green Chaos Emerald. After hearing their arguing about who found it followed by their suggestions as to offering it to the highest bidder or creating a true empire from her media holdings, she combined the ideas and decided to organize a competition to determine who would obtain it from her.[3]

Weeks later, shortly before the Chaos Emerald Championship began, Coconuts approached her with concern over broadcasting the fact that the Chaos Emerald in her possession was the prize, but she brushed off his concerns. Eggman later contacted her about the emerald, but after refusing to hand it over or sell it, Coconuts happily hung up the call for Breezie. At some point during the Chaos Emerald Championship, Scratch came across Knuckles the Echidna and told him that he would be late for his round in the tournament, despite Knuckles not realizing he was registered in the tournament.[1] After the tournament, Coconuts was seen watching Honey the Cat as she left Breezie's office.[3]
