Despite its unique name, the Tail-escope is no different from a regular telescope. A portable telescope slightly bigger than Tails, the Tail-escope has a yellow main tube with grey metal pieces around the eyepiece, a yoke, a focusing knob, and a viewfinder. The main tube itself stands on a brown wooden tripod.
When Dr. Eggman made a skeptical claim that an asteroid was heading for earth, Tails used the Tail-escope to look into space, and discovered that Eggman spoke the truth. It was further used by Team Sonic to perfect their plan to stop the catastrophe. Tails later took his Tail-escope out to study the stars at night. During his observations however, Tails used the Tail-escope to spot who he believed to be Muckfoot.
