The Step Dash should be merged with Amy Dash for the following reasons:

There is no technique in Sonic Advance 2 or Sonic Advance 3 that is called Step Dash; in Advance 2 it goes by no name in the English manual, though in Japan it is named the Amy Dash, and in the English manual of Advance 3 it is called the Amy Dash
The basic traits between the Amy Dash skill in Battle and the Step Dash is the same; the user does a forward dash. Sure, the performance differs slightly in Battle, but even for the Step Dash it is still different between game though are still considered the same
The different game mechanics in each game do not justify that they are to be separated; the Chaos Blast and Chaos Spear have several incarnations of their gameplay mechanics, ranging from Adventure 2, to Sonic 06, to Chronicles, yet they are considered the same move.

I rest my case. If it is still to be kept separated though, then at least the article's name should be changed.Ultrasonic9000 (talk) 12:48, February 20, 2014 (UTC)

No they are indeed different the movements are different in both and in Advance 3 there are 2 versions of it one for Sonic and one for Knuckles,

If they are so different, then present us with your arguments for why they should stay separated so we can understand you. They have the name in common, that cannot be denied and a initial similarity when starting up, so they need a good reason for staying separated.Ultrasonic9000 (talk) 17:53, February 20, 2014 (UTC)

First for the names in common please see these two pages Bobsled (kart) and Bobsled (sled) both are completely different things with the same name second Amy's movements in the last 2 Advance games are far different from her movements in Sonic Battle in the Advance games she charges up in place and shoots forward in a ball in Advance 2 or when paired with Sonic and forward while running when paired with Knuckles in Sonic Battle She begins to sprint from the get go with no charge needed. There are similarities there but that's like trying to merge the Maxim Heat Knuckles Attack and the Light Speed Attack because they have simalaraties if you want to put the thing like If you are looking for the Simaler move from Sonic Battle please head to Amy Dash at top thats fine.

Valid point, but this is also the same case for the Chaos Blast. In most other games in the series, it is an explosion of energy, but in Sonic Chronicles it is a beam of energy. Regardless of that, we still treat them as the same attack. Only in this case does the Amy Dash in Sonic Battle and Advance 2 and 3 have the same thing in common that they make the user do a forward dash. The difference here is the mechanics behind it, but that is a variable here on the wiki that is for naught when it comes to the similarities. Even so, it is still called the Amy Dash, the Word of God says that, so it should at least be given a suffix.Ultrasonic9000 (talk) 18:20, February 20, 2014 (UTC)

Very well if you can find a way to diffreninate the 2 but keep them on seprate pages I am fine with that.

I was originally going to say that the pages should remain separate due to the specialised information regarding Sonic Battle, but I realised that the Chaos Blast page has specialised information about Chronicles, so there's no reason this should be any different. Ultimately, I find either way though, but if the page stays, it definitely needs a name change, and so would the Sonic Battle skill page too. Myself 123 20:34, February 20, 2014 (UTC)
