Chaos Boost =/= Kaio-ken

The similarities between the Chaos Boost and the Kaio-ken technique are so minor, it shouldn't be mentioned in trivia. The only similarities are that they're both abilities that enhance the user and make them turn red. Other than that, there's little similarities. For one, the Kaio-ken does not allow the user access to stronger abilities, it just enhances the user. Secondly, the Kaio-ken does not have a time limit, it is simply recommended to only use the technique in short bursts as prolonged use can damage the users' body greatly. Also, the Kaio-ken can be heightened to increase it's effects, whilst the Chaos Boost can do the same, it does not increase the effects of the ability and instead just allows access to stronger moves. As for requiring energy, that is the same as several techniques in the DB universe and therefore not exclusive to the Kaio-ken. Myself 123 21:58, September 21, 2014 (UTC)

I agree. My beliefs pretty much entail everything Myself just said. Also, there are many franchises that sport a "powered-up" form, shall we say. It is rather common practice in video games, anime, manga, etc. The colour red would be a very common example of a "powered-up" form due to the fact that red can symbolize strength or hot-headedness. Simply because two franchises (which don't even have very many similarities) both use this colour does not necessarily make them comparable. -- Murphyshane - 熱! "Don't have many similarities" you say, Murph? Time for an DAMN big comparison!

1. Chaos Emeralds = Dragon Balls: BOTH are groups of SEVEN mystical items that can grant wishes and perform miracles when brought together. BOTH also contain positive and negative energy that can be used by those who gather them.

2. Super Forms = Super Saiyans: BOTH forms turn the hair/fur of a character to gold along with changing the eye color and granting a golden aura of energy around the user. In the classic games Super forms also granted increased mussle mass and gave green eyes, just like a Super Saiyan. THIS is even noted on the Super forms page; even though Super forms and Super Saiyans only LOOK similear and both grant DIFFERENT abilities, unlike the Chaos Boost and Kaio-ken, which LOOK and ACT similear!

3. Chaos Boost = Kaio-ken: Whole reason why we're here. BOTH give a red aura to users; grant increased strength and defence, can be 'leveled up' at will, and are only used in short bursts.

4. Sonic = Goku: Both characters love to go on adventures; fight evil, love to eat, live a carefree life style, have cocky attitudes, AND most importantly BOTH were the 1st to attain and master their respective Super forms. Plus they both lack a good education. 

5. Shadow = Vegeta: Both are very prideful and arrogent characters who started off as Villains and fought with Sonic/Goku respectively before being reformed by FEMALE characters (Bulma for Vegeta, Amy/Rouge for Shadow). Both also grew to respect and start a shaky friendship with their respectful rivals.

6. Silver = Trunks: Both are selfless time traveling heroes who come from an apocolyptic future to change the past, and the world. They are also very hap-hazard and tend to rush into things without thinking twice, leading to misunderstandings and defeats. Trunks is also the son of Vegeta while there is also a popular FAN THEORY that Silver is Shadow's son.

Now i can sit here and also compare Tails to Krillin; Knuckles to Piccolo and Yamcha, Amy to Chi Chi, Eggman to Dr.Gero, and Metal Sonic to Cell, but that would take to long and be rather redundent seeing as i already have 6 good points. So with all of these similarities and more between the two series *cough* SUPER FORMS *cough* but i think you get where i'm coming from here. Don't you think with the already mentioned Super form comparisons, and the character traits, that the Chaos Boost/Kaio-ken similarities should be atleast noted? Not really, we're talking about Kaio-ken and Chaos Boost, you just listed similarities between the Sonic series and Dragon Ball, you didn't counter any arguments against the supposed similarities or add anything new to the discussion. Look. If the Super Form Page notes the similarities between Super Forms and Super Saiyans, DESPITE the fact that Super Forms only LOOK like Super Saiyans and while acting differently, while Chaos Boost BOTH looks and acts like the Kaio-ken, then the Chaos Boost/Kaio-ken similarities deserve a trivia spot! There are arguably much more similarities between the different super forms than there are between these two abilities for reason I already stated. But you do feel this way, then perhaps the trivia regarding the super forms should be removed as well. Myself 123 17:03, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
