[edit] Eggman's Name
I'm going to edit the name section as it is very wrong, he has always been Eggman in Japan and after a quick search of Itallian websites under Doctor Zachary I could not find anything to do with Eggman. Although I do not speak Itallian there is no evidence to show Doctor Zachary was ever his name, if this was true provide evidence before editing it back on. --ZERO ninja 12:58, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
I hope that everyone understand this a litte bit before editing the page Before Adventure, His name in Japan were Eggman and outside Ivo Robotnik
Sega decided to merge the two name in adventure, Eggman as his nickname and how he is usually refered, and Ivo Robotnik as his Real name. If you don't know wich one is a nickname or real name play the games, Robotnik it's a family name. CookiePinguy 10:55, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Don't belive me? http://www2.sega.com/sonic/globalsonic/post_sonicteam.php?article=nakainterview from Yuji Naka himself ;D CookiePinguy 15:45, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Eggman Unleashed
Thank Sega for not having Next-Gen Eggman for such a major game. Not including the minor games in between.--Mystic Monkey 23:44, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

I think he looked too realistic. Im glad they changed him back. he looks kinda cool in sonic unleashed.--Skylerthewasp 19:52, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
I like the fact that his mustache looks like the oldschool one, and not the mess that we see in some art of him. CookiePinguy 18:23, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik?
Just puting this here to avoid future confusion.
This notation to write our favorite mad scientist, (Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik) that his similar to Tails' (FirstName "Nickname/Alias" LastName) is official. It's used, for example, in PSP Sega Genesis Colection. CookiePinguy 18:16, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Eggman over Robotnik
I figured out why he's "Eggman" now:
- Throughout Sonic Adventure, his name was Robotnik, though Sonic started calling him the insult Eggman because he was shaped like an egg. Therefore, he changed his name to Eggman so Sonic couldn't make fun of him anymore. FUNNIEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD! -- Shelly the Hedgehog

Wasn't he calling himself "Robotnik" and saying he was going to create "Robotnik" land in Sonic Adventure? Unless I'm mistaken, seeing as I haven't played the game is 8-10 years. -- Shelly the Hedgehog

I could check it out for you guys. I still have the game and the Dreamcast. First system and game in fact.--Kagimizu-Seeya 'round~ 03:37, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- He definitely called himself Robotnik in that game, but I don't remember him mentioning Robotnikland. Doesn't mean he didn't, though. Yuji Naka seems to think that Sonic uses the name "Eggman" less as an insult and more as an endearing nickname, but that's really just one man's opinion. -- Supermorff 19:05, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Well it was either Robotnikland or Eggmanland, one of the two. -- Shelly the Hedgehog

Well, there's always the real-world explanation that, in Japan, his name's always been Eggman without Robotnik anywhere in there, and since the Sonic Adventure era, someone high in the hirarchy of Sega decided that Eggman was to be usable in the international releases with Ivo Robotnik being his birth-name, apparently. Herman2000 13:53, October 12, 2009 (UTC)
- I was reading the Japanese Booklet of the first Sonic game a few weeks ago and it said his name was Ivo Robotnik. So that sure makes things confusing. And in Sonic Adventure he never mentions Eggmanland or RobotnikLand.Sonictoast 14:49, October 12, 2009 (UTC)
Incidently, this (albeit bad) translation of the Japanese manual of Sonic 1 (http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_%2816-bit%29_JP_Manual) mentions both names. Herman2000 19:57, October 12, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Age?
I gotta know, where are you getting this information that Dr. Robotnik's age is 60? Sonic Channel says his age is Unknown. At the same time, if you can find official information that he is 60 then we'll leave his age as "Unknown". 209.255.28.227 20:30, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
