Talk:Eggman Nega

From the Sonic News Network, the Sonic Wiki

[edit] Dates

I dont believe the dates in this acticle saying that Eggman lives around 2006 and Eggman Nega around 3356. Last I checked (or at least in the Archie comics), the regular sonic storyline doesn't occurr in the present, but instead occurs in the 33rd century. Is this just the comic being different, or am I wrong, or is this wrong? I'll try to look some of this up. FerralMoonrender 23:06, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

It's just the comic, sir (or ma'am). The game series takes place in the present. 207.74.196.20 14:38, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up, Mr. or Ms. 207.74.196.20. (Just for the reference, I'm a sir.) FerralMoonrender 05:36, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

ive always thought that there are two eggman negas, one from an altinate dimention, and one from the future due to fact that he works with eggman in the rush series, and turn agaist him in the rivals series.

[edit] 'Descendent' of Dr Eggman

Eggman Nega is not a descendent of Dr Eggman as The Rivals series and 06 led one to believe. The creators behind Sonic Rivals 2 have confirmed that Eggman Nega is in fact a Dimensional counterpart of Dr Eggman, http://www.smile.talktalk.net/ghz/interviews/rivals2/sonic%20rivals%202%20interview.pdf The question and answer are the last on page 6. For those who for some reason can't read the PDF document, here is the question and answer from that page:

Q: In Sonic Rush, Eggman-Nega came from another dimension. However, in Sonic Rivals 1, he is said to come from the future. Is the Eggman-Nega from Rivals 1 the same character that appeared in Sonic Rush? If he is the same character, then why do Rivals and Rush portray him as coming from two different places? As you said in our previous interview, you let Sega handle the story for the game, but we thought Sega might have given you some information about this apparent contradiction between Sonic Rivals and Sonic Rush.

A: I have included SEGA’s response: “Although there may have been some differences in the story setting for both Sonic Rivals 1 and Sonic Rush, Eggman- Nega is same character. He comes from another dimension, and the reference of time was to place the mystery of the cards in context with the story. We really hadn’t effectively changed where Eggman-Nega comes from, just added another dimension if you like to the overall storyline.”

So with this information in mind I think it would be best change all references of him being Eggman's descendent to his dimensional counterpart. DarkWiki 16:44, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

This is stupidness on SEGA's part, he's protraid differently in rush and rivals! And why would Eggman work with somone who turned agaist him!?!? Myself 123 00:19, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Expediency? Eggman works with Shadow in Shadow (game) AND Sonic '06 (in that he tries to get him to capture Mephiles) ANS Rivals, all this despite the fact that Shadow was just using Eggman all the way through Adventure 2 in order to bring about Gerald's final vengeance. The Doctor isn't usually worried that people will double-cross him, 'cos Eggman usually double-crosses THEM first. ;) Molten Scandium 00:26, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Yeah but in the Rush series they're on friendly terms, it just dosen't make sense to me and it would be much better if there were two of them. Myself 123 00:38, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
The way I think about it is that Rush and Rush Adventure happen before both Rivals 1 and 2. 'Cos Nega kinda goes psycho in the last boss of Rush Adventure, which may well be what led to his falling out with norma-Eggman. Molten Scandium 00:49, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Suppose that makes sense. Why'd they have to complicate things with him and Blaze? Myself 123 00:54, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, it keeps us on our toes, dosn't it? ;)
And mysteries like this are a gold mine for fanfic writers like m'self. Molten Scandium 01:08, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit] DESCENDANT??? YEAH, RIGHT!

Like Eggman could even get a date! HAW! --Sonicrox14 21:59, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Sonicrox14

I'm guessing he cloned himself. Myself 123 22:02, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

****ing edit conflict, stealing my comment. Seriously, in a fanfic I wrote almost two years ago, I had it as Nega was a crazed clone, from the future of an alternate dimension. SLJCOAAATR Soul 22:05, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Lol! I assumed from the start that he was a clone, well, a clone-of-a-clone-of-a-clone ect. I doubt that a evil mastermind hell-bent on taking over the world would go on a date, let alone get married and have kids. Myself 123 22:11, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, in an episode of AOSTH, Robotnik built a son. In the OAV, he dreamed of having several Eggy children with Sara, the daughter of the President. Of course, those are non-canon, but fun for the reference. SLJCOAAATR Soul 22:14, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Also, according to the Sonic Heroes guide, Eggman believes in woman-rights. SLJCOAAATR Soul 22:15, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, but i realy can't imagine him sat in a resturant having a normal conversation with somone. Myself 123 22:20, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Not even Eggman can. SLJCOAAATR Soul 22:29, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

That guy's like, 50! He couldn't if he tried! --Sonicrox14 04:05, 25 April 2009 (UTC) Shelly the Hedgehog

There's possibilities. Older woman. Rape (Though, this is unlikely for a mainly child-orineted series.). Possibilities are endless. SLJCOAAATR Soul 05:51, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

I still refuse to believe he had a son, unless of course, he has one who he might have had while he was younger and no one knows yet... that'd make sense (Like in SatAM, he had a nephew). --Sonicrox14 22:07, 25 April 2009 (UTC) Shelly the Hedgehog

Maybe a test tube baby.--Skylerthewasp 22:11, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Still has a nephew. (See Sonic the Hedgehog Archie Comics.) SLJCOAAATR Soul 22:12, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Clone/robot seems likely. A meglomaniac narcissist like Eggman would only let a clone with his personality be his successor. Myself 123 22:19, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Successor? Haw, more like traitor! You know how in Sonic X Eggman never lives up to the end on his bargain? Well, if he did create a clone/robot with his exact IQ, it would turn on him at the last minute and kill him. That's probably what happens in the future. --Sonicrox14 00:30, 26 April 2009 (UTC) Shelly the Hedgehog

....Doesn't he do that in every continuity? :S SLJCOAAATR Soul 00:32, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
I belive so, it's classic villaney, along with violence and dirty tricks. Myself 123 00:59, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Dosen't matter in what game, what show, what comic -- Eggman will never change, so his so-called 'descendant'/clone/robot will be even worse than him, because even Tails knows that "Even Eggman isn't that cruel" Besides, some fans are still deciding whether Nega is a descendant or just a dimensional counterpart of Eggman, so who knows who this guy really is! --Sonicrox14 02:41, 26 April 2009 (UTC) Shelly the Hedgehog

hum? guys, Nega doesn't have to be a DIRECT descendant, and we don't know how big is Family Robotnik, we know only 3 members (in game canon of course). CookiePinguy 23:23, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Cookie guy has a point...--Sonicrox14 05:05, 3 May 2009 (UTC) Shelly the Hedgehog

He does. It never crossed my mind that Nega could be a great-great-great-etc. mephew, or something of the sort. Just his similarity auto struck me as great-great-etc. grandson. SLJCOAAATR Soul 05:12, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

But still, the only way that could happen is if Eggman either has a child he just never told anyone, or cloning/robot/some other third thing --Sonicrox14 05:17, 3 May 2009 (UTC) Shelly the Hedgehog

Just to say, Biology is a Gerald thing not Eggman's (Considering the fact that all of his creations are robots, some even using poor animals as energy source, and also that he wants to make a machine utopia i think it's preety obvious). Speaking of Gerald, the shades and mustache look isn't Eggman original. ;P CookiePinguy 10:40, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Tell that to Mama Robotnik!!! --Sonicrox14 01:19, 5 May 2009 (UTC) Shelly the Hedgehog

We are talking about the game's canon, not AoStH -_-' CookiePinguy 06:41, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Tell that one to her, too! --Sonicrox14 03:46, 6 May 2009 (UTC) Shelly the Hedgehog

I don't get why people are discussing this still. the creators of Sonic Rivals (the only sub-continuity to have Eggmen Nega as a descendant) clearly stated that Eggman is supposed to be a Dimensional counterpart, and the only reason the whole concept of Eggman Nega being a descendent was for plot purposes (most likely in order to give a purpose to Silvers involvement). I mean if they admit that Eggman Nega is a dimensional counterpart, shouldn't that have ended this petty debate? these debates are more tedious than the Triforce in Ocarina of Time Rumours. Eggman Nega is officially Eggmans Dimensional counterpart, confirmed by the Sega, the creators of Rivals, and is technically evident in his name (Eggman Nega, being a Negative to the original Eggman, the positive, like the Chaos Emerald Sol emerald thing). Dark-Wiki 17:26, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, but Blaze was in Sonic '06 200 years in the future, but she hails from another dimension, not timeline. So this whole discussion is as good a question as Blaze! --Sonicrox14 03:03, 18 May 2009 (UTC) Shelly the Hedgehog

The little problem with Blaze was just a simple way of having a reappearance (as she would otherwise not appear outside of the rush series. Similar occurances happen all the time in Sonic games, such as Shadow appearing in Sonic Heroes after he was 'supposed' to die (most likely to fill in the blank space in Team Dark), or Gamma and Chaos in Sonic Battle after the formers 'death' and the latter departure from the present (possibly to merely give them another appearance). For some reason, Sega just like to bring back characters, some of whom were meant to die or return to whence they came (all of my examples fit in either of those categories). The only difference that confuses me, is that they never actually explained Blazes part in Sonic 06, unlike my examples who were all, at one time or another explained, and due to the paradox correcting events that transpired in 06, it is unlikely an explanation would surface. But I can say that Blaze is most likely supposed to be a figure of royalty in another dimension, who may or may not be affiliated with Silver. Dark-Wiki 23:54, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

...I'm only going to say this one more time -- Eggman cannot get a date. No girl could love him but his mother (and even she's not very happy about it) -- Shelly the Hedgehog 04:22, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Isn't Eggman, like, 46 or something? Maybe he had a child long ago, and then became corrupt and evil, and abandoned him or something? Anything's possible.--Gorge the Hawk 01:38, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Shadow34
