Sonic the Hedgehog Encyclo-speed-ia was meant to establish that the Fang, Bean and Bark seen at the beginning of the act were the real deals (39:38), so the classic world versions of these characters should get split. Neffyarious (talk) 23:00, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not convinced by it honestly. Knowing Flynn, he probably just saw the Hooligans and immediately thought they were part of the game. It was already shown that Heavy Magician was parading around as all three. And it makes no sense for them to just break the story of the game like that. DECOOL! (talk) 23:43, 30 March 2022 (UTC)

Name[]
Now that Superstars' site is updated, would it be better to change over Fang's page to "Fang the Hunter" as the official name given by SEGA now over older names, leaving "Fang the Sniper" as a nickname? DarkOverord (talk) 16:37, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
- The most common name is still "Fang the Sniper", and the website explains that this is due to his many aliases as a criminal. DiegoUreta68 (talk) 16:45, 23 June 2023 (UTC)

- In the latest Bumblekast, Ian Flynn said that Fang the Hunter is his new name. This was something decided upon after discussions between the lore team (that Ian is part of), the Sonic Superstars development team, and other departments. They also decided upon his species just being jerboa. "Fang the Hunter, and Fang being a jerboa, are the end result of that, and I helped contribute to that final decision."
