Extinct, or just one group?[]

I know Robotnik had god-level power in those issues, but considering the Plax were hive-minded aliens and how crazy the following statement sounds, I kind of have my doubts that the Plax that encountered Sonic on Shanazar and followed Robotnik briefly were the only Plax existing in the Sonic the Comic setting.
