Insted of all the information from games, cartoons and comics all packed into one profile, what if each characters seperate roles in different medias and existances had there own personal articles and were listed in disambiguation when the search name comes up?
Also when people put a name in the search such simply as "sonic" they get the disambiguation list to help pinpoint exactly what they are looking for. This way it would be easier to collect the exact information one requires without checking through chapters of one page.
And so on with each character. this way it would collect alot more useful information of each characters in there respective existances.

- I was thinking about this same thing the other day. What I was thinking was maybe, since there is so much content and technically, a lot of content (such as likes, dislikes and relationships) only applies to certain continuities. Here's my solution: why don't we use the Sonic the Hedgehog article to show the history of the character in addition to a summary of the different continuities, each with a main article template that would link to pages such as the ones you are thinking of. - Basically. Regardless of which storyline you follow, it's still the same Sega license, so I think we can expand on that more than we currently do. Plus, then we don't have to worry about users attempting to define certain storylines as canon or non-canon (usually you see this arguement as something being canon to the games or not) because of a theory of theirs, as often happens on fictional Wikis. - I'm glad you feel that way! I'm on another Wiki where there are certain things unproved to be separate from the video game continuity and they are shoved to the bottom of the character articles, and in them changes made are called inconsistencies with the video games and so on, even when it was released before a particular video game! So, just FYI that's what I'm hoping doesn't happen here, but luckily we have more clearly defined boundaries with this series. And, of course since we're catering to fans, we should try to cater to all fans, which is why I feel your idea is great: the fans that only are interested in the video game series can go to that page and not need to worry about something only being applicable to another continuity. Ages back, when I had to go to my public library for internet, I checked up on Sonics "real" name as I once considerd that Sonic was just an alt name like Tails actual name is Miles Prower etc.
Now it was ages ago but I was looking through some sites and found an interview where Sonics before name or "Secret identidy" could be 'Holli'.
As it was ages back, I was naive and wasn't up to date with the Sonic fandom without internet so I got excited and grafted the name in my memory. Sure I may have stumbled onto a joke and wised up these days but still might as well do all for this place. Never saw that site again.
I dunno if Sonic was a regular hedgehog and wasn't always blue like in the European origin story but if anyones kind enough to help me authenticate, it would put abit off my mind as well. Thanks.

It's too long. We'd be better off simply making a new article with this information. Like Sonic the Hedgehog (comic character). The info was simply copied from The Archie Sonic Wiki, not that I'm judging. I have copied info from other articles to different wikis myself. Saves the hassle of having to look through all sorts. But seperating the comic section into an article would be a good idea. Sonic has one of the longest pages in this Wikia, but his page doesn't really explain his part in some of the games, mainly after Sonic Adventure because most of his old games are "STOP EGGMAN" I think that We could move most of his conception stuff to another page and explain his roles in the games, comics, and tv shows, like most of his friends. - In general, we are trying to move information about the comics and TV shows into separate articles, like Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie), Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic the Comic), Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic X), etc. I don't feel that it would serve any purpose to separate out the conception stuff, but we should definitely have a new section on his role in the games. If you want to try setting up galleries on separate pages, do a trial run first so that we can see what it will be like. I have once written in Sonic's personality, "He is also well known for his brother-like friendship with Miles "Tails" Prower and his uninterested romantic relationship with Amy Rose."
But instead someone wrote "and the "will they or won't they" romantic relationship with Amy Rose".
I thought it was ridiculous to write in such a style, so then I wrote "his uninterested romantic relationship with Amy Rose" again.
Then that "Will they or won't they" thing showed up.
Then I wrote something like: He's not interested in having a girlfriend neither he really thought about it.
Then it was written "his ambiguous romantic relationship ith Amy Rose"
Then I typed "he is not interested in romantic relationships, especially with Amy."
I assume that SONIC DOESN'T LIKE AMY, because he has never shown any interest in her in any media, right? And besides if he does, I think it would be more appropriate to type that he is uninterested in her, because in all media it is always like this:

There is more. But doesn't this mean he is uninterested? Every Sonic fan knows that he is uninterested in Amy when it comes to romance. It is shown in every media. He doesn't like romance, it is even clearly mentioned in Sonic Central that he is uninterested in romance, especially with Amy.

Yes, but there has also been evidence that shows he may like her. You've only mentioned the evidence against it, not the evidence for it. I think that those SonAmy fans are actually being reasonable, in that while they could say that Sonic likes Amy, they instead say "Will they or won't they" or "Ambiguous relationship", meaning that Sonic may like her, he may not. Also, there was that official Q&A that said that Sonic is indeed interested in Amy, he just can't admit it. Yes, he was disgusted by Amy, see that cutscene where they are in that forest-like place, when Amy winks at him, Sonic seems to hesitate or feel bothered because she said,"And besides I'll be keeping my eye on you." just see his face expressions, he seems to freak out. He did the same in SRZG, when she winked at him, he was embarrased.
And, so what? Doesn't Sonic care about all of his friends? See how nice and caring he is to Shahra in SATSR. Nobody ever said about Sonic loving Shahra because they are just good friends. So that's the same with Sonic and Amy.
Isn't it true, that he is not interested in Amy, he always tries to get away from her, especially when she's mad. Even if he does like her, he is still not interested to confess it to her. And besides, that's what Amy was meant to do, chase after him, trying to win his heart but she can't and never will...well that's what Yuji Naka said. Although Sonic finds Amy annoying, but he still takes her as a friend.

Alright: 1: He is not disgusted by Amy, he has never been disgusted by her, only annoyed with her or embarrassed by her. There is a BIG difference between those words. 2: He is indeed interested in Amy. 3: You've just proven my point! Um, has anyone else noticed that we know absolutely nothing about Sonic's backstory? I mean really, all we know is that he was born on Christmas Island, met Eggman at some point, decided to try and stop Eggman, and that's it. We don't know who Sonic's family is, how Sonic got his superspeed, any of that stuff. Now that I think about it, it's actually the same for every character, except a select few. - To Supermorff: Well, it's just that with all of the latest characters (exluding Silver and to a lesser extent, Blaze), there whole life is laid out for us in their debuting game, and Shadow has had his entire life explained, while with some of the first characters, like Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Sonic himself, all we know is their history from their first game onwards, and nothing before that.

Well, it's just something I noticed that bugs me a little. I already took note of the fact that Silver and Blaze are exceptions, but some of these characters that have been around for only a few years, if that, have their whole story laid out, while the characters who started this franchise have nothing said about their past. I mean, how did Sonic get his superspeed? Why does Tails have his two tails? When did Knuckles become Guardian of the Master Emerald? How did Amy get the Piko Piko Hammer? From a storytelling perspective, there is no real reason to give any backstory about these now-iconic characters. I've been hearing that one of the new 'rules' is that each article can only contain a maximum of 10 pictures per gallery, so that they don't overflow. But here's an idea: why not, instead of 10 pics, have one picture from each game in the gallery? I made an edit explaining in far greater detail Sonic's role in Sonic Adventure. Now, I'm not saying that the decision to undo the edit was a bad one. I just personally think the edit was a step up from how it was before. I think if we are gonna talk about the character, we should cover ALL the details, that includes his role in each game in detail.
Now, I know that my telling of his role was probably a bit wonky and inaccurate --after all, I myself don't like Sonic Adventure a lot-- but, that's where the rest of the community should come into play, altering the thing till it's really as accurate as possible -- after all, isn't that what this wiki is dedicated to,

I had protected it merely because parts, or should I say, "chunks", were being taken out of Sonic's article, namely in the "love life" section.
