Oozaru[]

Id say that WereSonic had ape like quality such as pounding his chest like a gorrila. Anyway like Super Sonic being a nudge at DBZ's Saiyan power with golden blonde hair, Sonic the Werehog culd be a stab at Oozaru.

When a Saiyan stare up at a full moon, they become ape like creatures. This transformation is called Oozaru. Just thought to put it here for future decision whether Sonic becomming a Wolf/Ape like creature is referenced to Saiyans Great Ape transformations.--Mystic Monkey 00:56, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

I'll say that Oozaru was based on the werewolf myth. Myself 123 16:09, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

PEOPLE!!! GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEADS!!! I yet again have to point out that SEGA has in no way ripped something off of DragonBall. Super Sonic and the Super Saiyan showed up in the same year. The Werehog is just a lycanthropic form of Sonic, which is very general, and lots of characters in media have one. You know what? ANYONE could make such stupid accusations. Example: OOzaru is a rip-off of Donkey Kong. See how unfair (and unbacked) that statement is? KNOCK IT OFF!!!

Where is the incorrect term?[]

What happen to the incorrect term trivia? Was it false? Or was it because most people don't actually know what "Werewolf" actually means? --WolfMark6 01:02, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

it means a human[usually] turning into a wolf at full moon. right?--Meowmix5 00:03, 2 May 2009 (UTC)meowmix5,artemis fan

That is what most people mean, but the term literally means man-wolf, from the Old English word were meaning a man. -- Supermorff 05:32, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

If werewolf means manwolf, that means werehog means manhog! That's Sonic in a nutshell!-ShadowUltimate

Voice[]

i don't hink he sounds like Jet at all, Jet has a lisp (due to having a beak as opposed to lips). The Werehog sounds more beast-like. Myself 123 18:00, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

I don't think it really matters, but he doesn't really sound like Jet to me.

Sho-Hog-Ken?[]

I got this from the Street Fighter Wiki. Should it be mentioned? 71.14.71.198 22:51, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

No.

Yes.

Definetley, the Shoryuken gets referenced to in a lot of media (also mention the Sho-Claw-Ken)

Do you think...[]

That WereSonic would get in Sonic 4 in a night stage?Hey dudes! 18:16, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

Most unlikely, considering that this game takes place a long time before the events of Sonic Unleashed. Herman2000 18:17, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah that occured to me just as soon as I hit Save Page kind of a dumb questionHey dudes! 18:19, February 22, 2010 (UTC)

If you're embarrassed about it, you could delete this section competely.

Werehog's Pathetic Trivia[]

Template:58SlugDrones!

Nobody's saying the trivia is "good", we're saying it's trivia, thus it would naturally belong in the "trivia" section.

Funny you should ask that. His hands turn blue as a werehog, your right about the red eyes.Who cares if you don't like Sonic and Amy, I keep the possible Knux and Rouge and I hate the couple. Early concept designs showed Sonic with chains and a leather jacket. And besides, we do this kind of stuff with the other transformations. And yes, I do think it's "trivia-ish". Sonic & Scrab Master

Yep that is 100% "Trivia-ish"BlazeRocks55 12:14, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

See? More people want the trivia to stay. Your practically the only person who thinks its not "trivia-ish". Sonic & Scrab Master

Whoa, 58, chill out a bit. You are (largely) correct in your assertion that the trivia is non-notable and much of it does need to be removed, but ranting is not helping your position. Issues:

  1. Comparisons to characters in other continuities are specifically disallowed by our rules unless it can be definitively shown that the similarity was intended by the creators of the Sonic character. As this is clearly not the case here, comparisons to Zelda and DBZ are gone.
  2. If concept art did feature chains and leather jacket, that would be notable information about the design process of the character and thus allowable. The issue is whether the assertion is true, because no references/evidence has been supplied. Therefore add Template:Citation needed and see if any gets added. This has now been done. Excellent.
  3. If someone says "this is the first instance of something" (as here with "forced transformations") but then immediately provides a counter-example, then it is not notable and should be removed.
  4. Being the third or higher example of something is not notable, and should be removed. In the particular case of Sonic Channel wallpaper, this is simply because they only recently started adding Sonic Channel wallpaper, so of course recent characters are more likely to have wallpaper after their first appearance.
  5. Werehog's voice actor is mentioned at the top of the page, so doesn't need to be included in trivia, and it is not worth pointing out that multiple characters voiced by the same person sound similar. Duh.
  6. "Nobody mentions the name Werehog in dubbed dialogue... except in the following examples." Not notable. Gone.
  7. The Werehog design has prominent canine teeth but Sonic doesn't. So what? The designs of the characters are different, but we don't have a piece of trivia saying "The Werehog has bigger arms than Sonic". It's self-evident. You can mention this is a characteristics/physical appearence section, however (if we had one).
  8. "The Werehog could be considered by some to be a Power formation" - define "some". If "some" refers to anyone except Sega developers, then it's not notable, no matter what justification is provided.
  9. The idea of the Werehog being more violent comes directly from different gameplay. I don't see how that transfers to an in-universe change of personality.

I've probably missed some here. Let me know. -- Supermorff 08:18, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

The Werehog's Japanese voice actor[]

Dudes! I just heard the Japanese voice actor for Sonic the Werehog! Sonic & Scrab Master

And you just spammed up the talk-page of the article because... why, exactly? --Herman2000 23:10, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

I'm just wondering WHY would SEGA of Japan let that person voice the Werehog?!?!?!?! Sonic & Scrab Master

Perhaps Junichi Kanemaru couldn't go as deep with his voice as the role'd have required, or his interpretation of a deep voice didn't meet what Sonic Team had in mind, thus, they chose a different voice actor. --Herman2000 23:40, April 10, 2010 (UTC)

But the werehog in Japnese sounds like a gentleman. And that doesn't suit Sonic at night. Sonic & Scrab Master

the confirm of return[]

Why is the line in the trivia "Sega has confirmed that this is not the end of the werehog" not in there?'''I am the metal''' 00:28, June 30, 2010 (UTC)

Mighty the Hedgefox I pity the fool Mr.T
TALK – PARTY TIME!!!
Well, do you have any references to confirm that statement?

Ok I know this was about a month and a half ago but allow me to shed some light on this rumor. The developer of Sonic and the Black Knight said that the Werehog would return IF there was a sequel to Sonic Unleashed, but at this point I doubt there will be, the director and main developer of the game left SEGA over a year ago and they seem to have decided to just make Sonic games that are not sequels but feature the same daytime style gameplay as Sonic Unleashed. If there ever is a sequel, then we will see the Werehog again, but otherwise it is highly unlikely that we will not. Jacktheinfinite101 14:38, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

Ruined (I think)[]

I'm sort of a beginner at Wikia. I edited the Werehog page. and now there's nothing to edit! (Just the quote) Can somebody fix this probelm?
