The Techno Bodyshell Battlesuit was

Robotnik (inside the Techno Bodyshell Battlesuit) takes a shot at Sonic.

a single-person combat vehicle designed and built by Dr. Ivo Robotnik.

Appearance

Like many of Robotnik's previous creations, its appearance was based around his own visage and this one was approximately his size. The overall shape was egg-like which may have influenced the "shell" part of the name. It also looked vaguely similar to the Death Egg. The main features of the mech were it's extending arms with hand-like manipulators and an energy cannon housed in the front chest plate.

History

The Battlesuit was employed by Robotnik during the Dr.'s excursion to Flicky Island in search of a Chaos Emerald, where he ambushed and tangled with Sonic the Hedgehog inside the Flicky Zone. While temporarily thrown-off by a sucker-punch, Sonic quickly gained the upper hand and destroyed the Battlesuit with an amped-up spin-dash courtesy of some ancient machinery inside the zone. Though not seen, the Battlesuit could apparently fly as well, as that was how Robotnik said he got to Flicky Island in the first place, leaving him trapped there following its destruction for a short while. Trivia

  • The Techno Bodyshell Battlesuit is based on the The Final Weapon Battlesuit from the Sonic 3D Blast game. In the actual game, you do not fight this battlesuit until you reach the end of the game, and only if you have all seven Chaos Emeralds. A larger version of the battlesuit appears to be the setting for the Panic Puppet Zone.
