King Theodore Acorn is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He was a Mobian squirrel-chipmunk and one of the earliest members of the House of Acorn and rulers of the Kingdom of Acorn.

History[]

Life and achievements[]

While traveling back home after a visit to the north, Theodore's son, Emerson Acorn, was accidentally killed at Roundabout Creek by a young Overlander named Paladin, who had been playing with a gun. Theodore found Emerson's body and saw Paladin run away and forbade any contact with the "fierce and violent" Overlanders. From that day, Theodore instituted the anti-gun law as Mobians resorted to avoiding the use of guns from then on.[2][3]

When Theodore, who was titled "the Bereaved" as a result of his loss, stepped down, he lived out the rest of his life in Knothole Village.[1][4] He was succeeded by his second son Raphael Acorn, who was born so late into his life that Theodore had little time to instruct him in his role as king before passing.[1]

Legacy[]

Theodore's anti-gun law would remain in force from his reign through to the reign of his distant descendant Maximillian Acorn, which was repealed during the Second Robotnik War.[2][3]
