Hi. Thanks for following the conventions for having singular titles of the articles but could you next time not place deletion tags on the plural redirects? Even if they are not used, they still remain helpful to the reader.
It's a convention in Wikipedia; it is genuine to have a plural redirect to its singular form. Even then, some of these singular titles have been also known as their plural forms (like Ring as Rings, no?).
What I mean is this one point from Wikipedia:Article conventions (plurals):
"Just as with any other title, a plural base title can direct to an article (Snickers), or to a dab page (Suns). A plural base title can also redirect to an article (Bookends redirects to Bookend; Faces redirects to Face)."
I mean that having that redirect up will not eliminate the usage of it as a link. People can still write "Red Star Rings" when they want to direct to "Red Star Ring" and that leaves us with the job of redirecting them once more. That is what I meant with an evil cycle
If we do see people start to do this, give them a friendly reminder to ask them to not to put links ("Red Star Rings" to plurals). I can do all the fixing of the redirects myself.
no offense, but that is kinda a bonehead solution. We cannot keep saying that to everyone with that issue and you wont be here forever and neither will I. Better to nip this thing at the bud rather than doing something redundant over and over again. Wont you agree that would be rather tiresome?
