Description[]

The Turbo Star made its first appearance in Sonic Riders. According to its profile, it can quickly achieve top speed with its acceleration. It can be unlocked in the game by first collecting the Turbo Star Repair Manual in Mission 5 for Splash Canyon and the broken Turbo Star Gear by completing Mission 5 at Green Cave with a Gold rank and then collecting forty green junk, two yellow junk, ten red junk and ten blue junk to repair it.

In Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Turbo Star received a redesign. In this game, the Turbo Star is made thicker with round curves, giving it a more bulky look. The rear is especially increased in size, having been made nearly spherical, with two silver-colored exhaust ports on the rear. It still keeps its color scheme of yellow and black from Sonic Riders, however, being primarily colored yellow, with black edges on the sides of the front and mid-section.

Trivia[]

  • The name "Turbo Star" is also the name of a vehicle found in Kirby Air Ride, which is a game Sonic Riders is often compared to.
  • In Sonic Free Riders, for this Gear has the highest acceleration in the game, when starting a race, the rider will approach the starting line quicker than on other Gear so the player has to carefully time the Kick Dash (it is best to wait when the timer reaches around 0.7-0.5 seconds before Kick Dashing) which makes it easy to get an 'Unbelievable Start' but it is very easy to perform a mistimed Kick Dash which can easily result in hitting the starting line before the timer reaches zero.
