— Description, Sonic Chaos[1]

Turquoise Hill Zone (ターコイズヒル・ゾーン[1] Tākoizu Hiru Zōn?) is the first Zone of Sonic Chaos for the Master System and Game Gear. As with other stages in this game, Turquoise Hill consists of two standard Acts followed by a shorter, third Act which contains the Zone's boss. Turquoise Hill Zone precedes Gigalopolis Zone.

Description[]

Very much in the style of Green Hill as a tropical-paradise-themed opening level, Turquoise Hill Zone is filled with grassy plains, palm trees, checkered soil, and loops. What distinguishes Turquoise Hill from its greener counterpart is the profusion of Springs all over the place.

Boss[]

TurquoiseHillBoss

The Lady Bug Boss

Main article: Lady Bug Boss

Turquoise Hill Zone's boss is a single, massive Boing-o-Bot called the Lady Bug Boss. However, it possesses essentially no offensive capabilities at all, and simply crawls from one side of the screen to the other on caterpillar tracks. The spring on its back prevents Sonic the Hedgehog or Tails from simply jumping on it until the robot explodes; however, like its smaller brethren, the Lady Bug Boss is quite defenseless against a Spin Dash.

Trivia[]

  • Despite the fact that turquoise is a blue-green colour, (and as a result is more likely to refer to the sky or ocean of the Zone than the pink-and-green hills themselves) multiple official sources have described the hills of Turquoise Hill Zone as being "turquoise".
  • Turquoise Hill Zone appears on the Master System box artwork for Sonic Chaos.
