While out exploring all of Mobius, Sonic and Tails decide to stop in a small town called Mobius Corners to get some Chili Dogs. Everyone in town runs in their homes and locks up as if afraid of the heroic duo. Though curious at first, the heroes are soon distracted by Bert's Diner which advertises foot long Chili Dogs. Upon entering, the owner, Bert Whoo, mistakes them for robots, but quickly realizes they are not.
Two Badniks, Roller and Ball Hog show up and demand money which Bert refuses to pay. Sonic leaves and comes back dressed as a health inspector. He says everything in the diner is good and the waitress, Roxy is cute. He then says the old appliances have to go and he gets rid of Roller and Ball Hog. Sonic finds their calling card, which is from Dr. Robotnik's Or Else Protection Service. Bert and Roxy explain that they refused to pay Robotnik. Sonic says he and Tails will stay and stand against Robotnik with them.
Back at his fortress, Robotnik calls for Scratch and Grounder who are watching the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog pilot on TV. Robotnik sends Scratch and Grounder to Mobius Corners to replace Ball Hog and Roller. He tells them to specifically threaten Bert Whoo.
Back at the diner, Roxy affectionately watches Sonic as he scarfs down a giant Chili Dog and splatters chili all over her. Scratch and Grounder show up to take over where the previous Badniks left off. Scratch throws a bomb at the diner, but Sonic catches it and gives it back to blow them up. They return to the diner demanding to see the boss, disguised as Bert Whoo Sonic leads them into a truck driven by the real Bert. Bert drives them straight to jail and locks up the two bots.
Sonic and Tails leave thinking all is well. Bert goes to check on Scratch and Grounder to find they have escaped. The Badniks ambush Bert and tie him up and call Robotnik to come. Roxy sees them drag Bert into their car and she hops on back as they drive away.
Meanwhile, Robotnik approaches Sonic and Tails in a giant missile launching mobile battle station. Sonic comes in dressed as an old lady, claiming to be sent by Mama Robotnik. Dr. Robotnik says he'll bribe him/ her to not report to his mother and gives Sonic all the money that he got from the Mobius Corners towns people. Sonic also sabotaged the battle station and it blows up. Robotnik flies out in his Egg-o-Matic Tunnelizer and Town Terrorizer and tells them Bert is in his dungeon.
Sonic and Tails go to Dr. Robotnik's fortress to save Bert and find Roxy there for the same reason. The three sneak in, but Sonic and Tails fall into a trap door. Roxy soon falls into another trap door and lands on Robotnik, allowing Sonic, Tails and Bert to escape.
Back at the diner, to thank Roxy, Tails uses the old pieces of Roller and Ball Hog to make a robot order taker with Tails' voice. Bert tells Sonic he is always welcome for a free chili dog lunch. Sonic leaves and comes back with a fork and knife, saying he is hungry. Sonic and Roxy start making out.
Sonic tells the audience to stay in school and stay out of gangs.
