Phoenix is one of the few hedgehog with the ability to fly on his own (Silver the Hedgehog is the only other one known with this skill), he may not look very tough or dangerous but don't under estimate him he has more tricks and skills up his sleeve then you think. Phoenix shares many traits with the 'phoenix' of mythology, he is semi-mortal (meaning he doesn't age but he can be killed), his regeneration abilities allow him to remain in peak physical condition despite his ageless destiny. He doesn't however respond from ash every 1,000 years (or ever). Phoenix can heal others with his regeneration abilities via his flame element, not with his tears like the 'phoenix' of mythology. Phoenix's semi-mortal ability can be transferred only to his offspring not any other living people. Phoenix can use his flam element with his wings to create a 'jet' effect with his wings. By directing fire in concentrating streams off his wings allowing him to fly much faster than his wings alone could ever carry him, almost to the speed of sound. His wings have many uses other then flight however. His feathers contain a special oil in them than when Phoenix tenses his wings the outer edge become strong as steel and have reflective properties making them excellent shields from energy weapons fire. He has the unique ability to recreate almost any weapon he wants, he however must know how the weapon works inside and out in order to create it properly. Contrary to the idea that water will destroy a fire elementor, water will only dampen the effectiveness of Phoenix's flame element but cause him no harm.

Phoenix may not be very old but he has already been though a lot, he was born in 3220 on a small planet on outer edge of the galaxy with no official name only a colony ID, P311598. Phoenix led a mainly uneventful life on the planet, unfortunately this planet was also in between two galactic factions that were at war, the Trian (Tri-an) Empire and the Allied Federation of Species. The planet was bombed out in 3233 in an attack by the Trian Empire, Phoenix was only 13. Phoenix was orphaned in the attack and after he and the rest of the survivors were evacuated he joined the Federation as a fighter pilot. Phoenix flew an Arwing class star fighter and quickly became a skilled pilot in combat. The war lasted four more years before the Empire signed a peace treaty with the Federation ending the war. Phoenix was 17 when the war ended in 3237 and held the rank of squad leader marksmen first class in the Navy, Phoenix also holds the rank of Jr. Admiral in the Federation Navy Intelligence (FNI) for the intelligence he gathered during the war and volunteering for near suicide scouting/recon missions during the war. Later that year Phoenix retired to the reserve forces of the Navy and became a freelancer and dose jobs for the Federation Navy. His main business comes from doing odd jobs for cash, basically a gun for hire or mercenary. He dose do some cargo transport and smuggling into the Empire with skills feared and respected by the Empire, pirates, other smugglers and the Federation it’s itself.

Phoenix works as a freelance mercenary for the Federation, what this means is that he reports to them for missions so he has a "get out of jail free card" if anything goes wrong, some missions where this comes in handy are assassinations/intimidation of Imperial leaders or just causing general trouble in the Empire in the name of the Federation, Phoenix also dose transport/shipping jobs for privet companies shipping cargo. He does all of this with a modified VIP transport that has been refit as a combat freighter named the Star Dragon. With his skills as a fighter pilot put to use flying the Star Dragon, Phoenix has gotten a reputation of delivering his cargo anywhere in the galaxy and getting it there in one peace, so merchants and corporations are willing to pay extra credits for Phoenix's "personal service and guarantees" to deliver their most valuable cargo to anywhere in the galaxy. Also the Federation Navy hires him to smuggle supplies to rebel forces fighting within the Empire, adding to his reputation as "the best pilot in the Navy and the galaxy".

[edit] The Star Dragon

The Star Dragon has a history just as rugged as Phoenix's, it was originally a tri-thruster luxury transport meant for VIP's. Before Phoenix got the ship she was all but scraped after being attacked by pirates and shot up, Phoenix bought the ship for a tenth of is original price. After repairing the critical systems on the ship he installed a cargo bay to the top of the ship, this was unusual because most cargo ships had their cargo bay either on the bottom or inside the ship. However tri-thruster landing bay (both on the ground and on space stations) were designed so cargo could be loaded into their upper hatches, making it the best place for the cargo bay. The most unique feature of the Star Dragon is its maneuverability, because it was a former luxury transport gave it a great deal of maneuverability making it perfect for smuggling runs. Phoenix modified many thing on the Star Dragon including adding weapons and installing a reactor that was designed to power a ship twice its size giving it incredible power abilities. Like Phoenix there is more to the Star Dragon then meets the eye, Phoenix has added many features that make the Star Dragon next to imposable to mach. Military equipment such as armor plating, shielding and weapons such as phasors, disruptors, and torpedoes make the Star Dragon a mach for any light combat ship that messes with it, and can out run every thing else.

[edit] Encounter on Mobius

Mobius sits on the edge of the galaxy, and on the other side of the galaxy form the Federation and Empire. Phoenix, the Federation, not even the Empire knew about Mobius' existence until 3238 when the Star Dragon was on a survey mission for the Federation and discovered a wormhole, the Star Dragon was caught in the worm hole's gravitational field and was pulled though a worm hole and sent serial thousand light years from the Federation. The Star Dragon wound up in orbit around Mobius' sun, about 30,000 kilometers form Mobius its self. Phoenix was rendered unconscious by the sudden and unexpected gravity of the worm hole and woke up after exiting, by then a ship was on an intercept cores for his ship but he didn't know who it was. It was Egg Man and after several failed attempts to convince Phoenix to join him, Phoenix crippled Egg man's ship and used its parts to repair the crippled Star Dragon. After landing Phoenix discover that the locals were more friendly then Egg Man was. Phoenix returned to the Federation via the worm hole that brought him to Mobiusand establish trade between Mobius and the Federation. After several trips to Mobius Phoenix made several new friends on Mobius including Shadow, Cream, Tails, and Amy. After meeting Amy she introduced him to Sonic the Hedgehog, however the two did not get along. Sonic was extremely care free and quite boastful, too much for Phoenix and he quickly grew to dislike to hedgehog becoming rivals.

[edit] Plasma Phoenix

On one trip to Mobius Shadow showed Phoenix an unusual (to him anyway) gem he called a 'Chaos Emerald'. The emerald was green and looked like an over sized diamond, Shadow explained that it was a source of great power, when Phoenix tried he found that he could use the same power. At the time Phoenix did not realize how many there were in the universe and decided to clone one to take with him, this was not a regular emerald and so Phoenix decided to call it something else due to the fact that it was made using his flam element and its shift in color from bright red to dark orange Phoenix decided to call it a "Flam Emerald". This 'Flam Emerald' had two advantages over the 'Chaos Emeralds', first it wasn't called back to Mobius when A.D.A.M. activated his chaos spire (see STH issue 168-169), second Phoenix can become Plasma Phoenix with this one gem because he can use it to harness power from all heat sources around him including stars and the planet core.

[edit] Cyber Sonic

On one of his trips to Mobius, Phoenix heard about a robot called Metal Sonic made by Egg Man , curious about this creation Phoenix looked into the project and learned that it was designed to mach sonic and destroy him, that's when Phoenix came up with an idea. Phoenix got a hold of the designs for Metal Sonic and made a new robot using the same design , however lacking creativity in names things he named it Cyber Sonic but without the attitude and revelry of the real sonic or evil of Metal Sonic. Cyber Sonic, or "Cyb." for short, is built the same as Metal Sonic but with improved armor skin and electronics from Federation Military equipment, Cyber sonic is stranger and smarter than Metal Sonic. Cyber Sonics' programming was build around the base template of a Federation Navy Battle ship AI (see example Cortana), this gives Cyber sonic a great knowledge of combat, battle tactics, and records of past battles, also he has enhanced logic programming and processing speed to assist Phoenix. Phoenix however did write the rest of Cyber Sonics' programming he gave Cyber Sonic the ability to learn and to develop his own personality, and he did. Cyber Sonic developed a generally nice but sometimes annoying personality with a skill to fix just about anything on his own. Cyber Sonic also doubles as the Star Dragons AI and runs most of the electronic systems on the ship increasing the effectiveness of the Star Dragon. Cyber sonic has many custom improvements added by Phoenix (much like the Star Dragon) one of these is a special alloy for armor plating giving Cyber sonic incredible resistance to heat, damage, and making him immune to EMP pulses. Another improvement is a fusion generator for power, this generator was originally intended to power light mechs such as APCs, this gives Cyber sonic the power of a small transport.

Though his travels Phoenix has met many interesting people, but only a few he calls friends. on Mobius Phoenix has met a larger variety of people than anywhere else in the galaxy, some of his friends from Mobius are (in no order) Shadow The Hedgehog, Amy Rose, Tails, Espio, Antoine D'Coolette, Bunny Rabbot, Nicole, Julie-Su, Mighty, Tala the Bat, and Violet the Wolf. However not all of the people Phoenix knows form Mobius are friends (or even good for that matter), some of his rivals would be Knuckles the Echidna, Sonic The Hedgehog, and Vector. His enemies (of coerce) Egg Man, Snively, and G.U.N.
