It was just another day for Tails, testing new experiments and trying to figure out what the plant on his windowsill meant. When Cosmo died Sonic gave him a seed which Tails planted in a pot and placed on his window sill. He couldn’t help but wonder if he would ever be happy again.
“Might as well head to bed” Tails told himself. All alone in his house, Sonic was gone running and Knuckles was guarding the master emerald. He knew Amy and Cream were trying to cheer him up, with the tea party that Cream invited him to and the cake Amy made for him. He just felt in his stomach that it was all wrong. He started drifting to sleep when he heard a crash. He jumped out of bed and grabbed his bat from under his bed. He walked out and heard someone saying something. He couldn’t make out what the person said but he followed the sound. He snuck down and leaped out at the person. She screamed, then Tails startled by the scream jumped back. She started saying something.
“Please don’t hurt me! I’m very lost and confused on where I am. Please help me.” Tails recognized the voice but couldn’t figure out who it was.
“I didn’t mean to scare you, I thought you were breaking into my house.” Tails turned a light on so he could see who it was. When he looked at the girl he dropped the bat on the floor.
“What’s wrong?” she asked. Tails couldn’t say anything, he was to surprised. “Oh I guess I should introduce myself, how rude of me. My name is Cosmo; the last thing I remember was being pushed into an escape pod and being told to find a hedgehog by the name of Sonic. You see there are these evil people called the Met-“ Tails interrupted her.
“I know about the Metarex Cosmo, what I don’t understand is how you’re alive!” He hugged her.
“Why would I not be alive?” she asked him.
“Because! You gave your life to save the galaxy, the Metarex’s leader Dark Oak had made a planet to take over the galaxy and you were the only one to save us. So you paralyzed him and told me to…” his voice got quieter. “You told me to shoot you with the Sonic Power Cannon.”
“I don’t remember that, or you or anything. What is your name?” Cosmo asked.
Tails looked up at her, he smiled a little “I’m Miles Prower, but I go by Tails. It’s a nickname Sonic gave me. Don’t worry about the Metarex Cosmo, they’re gone. But now we have a new beginning, something that we have to start over Cosmo. But you wouldn’t remember anything.”
“If what you say is true, Tails, then I would ask you try and tell me about my past.”
“Ok! By the way how did you get here?” Tails looked at the plant by the window and saw the flower that was blooming earlier was gone. “Did you… grow?”
“Well I did fall off the window. Tails we have to find out how this happened! How come I remember nothing except before I met you, how did I grow out of that plant, and what happened to my family?” Cosmo was distressed at this point. Tails suddenly remembered something.
“Hey! My friend Ace has traveled all over the galaxy and knows a lot about other planets, maybe she’ll know about seedrians? I’ll go call her.” Tails ran over to the phone and began dialing.
“Hello this is Ace” said the girl on the other side of the line.
“Ace it’s Tails, I need your help. What do you know about seedrians and seedrian seeds?”
“Well Tails I know that Seedrians are a plant species who were at war with another planet and so the males of the Seedrian species use the planet egg to reach their full form and sustain it. Unfortunately this killed their planet egg causing the females to flee and the males who survived the destruction of their planet because the Metarex. Now about their seeds, when a female reaches her full form she turns into a tree and grows seeds. This is how the last known child of their queen was born, she names that child Cosmo.”
“That’s the Seedrian I need more information about.” Tails yelled at her.
“Well Tails you would need to ask her sister Galaxina not me. You will have to travel to New Green Planet.” Ace replied back.
“My family is still… alive?” Cosmo asked.
“Well yea, I got back a couple weeks ago from visiting them. Go find them Cosmo, you and Tails.” Ace told her.
“Thank you!” Cosmo said excitedly, “Come on Tails let’s go! I have to see my sister.”
“Ok, if that’s what you really want…” Tails said.
