Here we are again... It's been a few months and I haven't been here much. I just haven't had the time to hang around here and don't really keep up with news here unless Unleashed informs me. Just sayin', don't expect me to be here too often.Read more >
With me and Unleashed working on the Let's Plays for the first two Sonic the Hedgehog titles on Genesis, we've been discussing how to make the LP relate to the wiki. We've come up with the idea to split the Let's Plays into parts, with each part focusing on a single zone to link to their respective articles. My idea for handling Sonic 1 was this: Part 1: Introduction to SNN beginning an LP series for Sonic the Hedgehog.
Part 2: Green Hill Zone: Commentary to introduce the player to the abilities of Sonic and how Green Hill accustoms the player to such.
Part 3: Marble Zone: Discussing how this level may have scared away first-time players and how it's difficulty spike.
Part 4: Spring Yard: Chatting about the momentum based physics in a level f…Read more >
So I was on the internet when I heard a rumor that there will be a Sonic movie hitting the silver screen, and two things stuck out to me: 1) Live-action/animation 2) The film is supposedly titled "SONIC THE HEDGEHOG". In all caps. Gee, were have I seen it spelled like that before... (As Juan Ortiz said "...Sonic '06, Sonic Next Gen, Sonic 360, or SAWNEEK DA HEDJHAWG!!! So I was looking at Sonic Colors on the Models Resource when I discovered this:http://www.models-resource.com/wii/soniccolors/model/1095/
What appears to be an unused caterpillar/silk worm type badnik designed for the game. I've made several attempts to reconstruct the model, but it's currently over my head... I've not seen any mention of this badnik anywhere else on the internet, so does anybody know if this is used in-game, or if people have just glanced over it?Read more >
So I recently finished Sonic Unleashed on the Xbox 360, and had the Werehog on the mind. I started noticing even more similarities in the Werehog's platforming to Ristar, and I had a question: How would the Werehog play in 2D, specifically during the Classic Era. So I played the Werehog and Ristar back-to-back, and found some footage of Sonic Unleashed Mobile to get some ideas going. Here's what I've come up with:
- A - Still used for jumping like every other platform game on the planet
- B - Used for throwing punches similar to Ristar's grab
- C - Used for grabbing like Ristar
- D-Pad - Left and right for movement, used in conjunction with "B" or "C" to aim direction
I've also been researching Ristar's sprite animations, and results have been interest…Read more >
