Alright, now we're in the top 10. The cream of the crop, the elite of the elite, the magnum opuses of Sonic's musical career. These songs help to define Sonic as a series, and are, in my opinion, reflective of some of the defining moments of his franchise. So, what song gets the honor of the Number 10 spot? The answer may surprise you.

#10 Live Life (Sonic and the Black Knight)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the Sonic Storybook games have the best characterization for Sonic in the entire franchise, which leads to some of his best theme songs. Take this song, for example. Sonic wholeheartedly knows that everything must have a natural end, and he will work tirelessly to make sure everything stays that way. This is relatively new f…

Heh. And they say that autotune is soulless.

#20 Speak with Your Heart (Sonic Colors)

Finally. We get to Sonic Colors, the Frozen of the Sonic franchise. While certain people are revving up their tomato throwers, let's talk about the actual song. It says something about Cash Cash's talent when they can take a tool like autotune, something that many people have called something along the lines of "not a real instrument", and make one of the most emotional songs in the entire Sonic franchise. It even allows the lyrics to take center stage, whereas with most Sonic songs, while the lyrics are certainly good, the instruments are the biggest reason for their fame. I don't know how much Cash Cash has done outside of the Sonic franchise, but if it i…

I've always been a fan of ice levels in video games. Not only because winter is one of my favorite seasons, but because there is usually some twist in the design to make the level interesting. Take Skeleton Dome for example. It starts out in a snowy canyon, then it transfers to an underground palace. Add in some awesome music, and what's not to like?

#30 The White of Sky (Sonic and the Secret Rings)

One of the first things that should stand out to a listener of this song would be how Runblebee ties in the strings in this song. They put them in so that the sounds tie in with the Arabian theme of the game, which is a nice touch. While the song is good on its own, it's about where it is in the game that makes it stand out. Since this is the pen…

I have a slight confession to make. It regards my opinion of something, so obviously, it's not going to go over well, but here goes: Sonic and the Secret Rings is my favorite Sonic game. I'm serious. I've never had any serious problems with the controls, the story one of the best in the series, and the music is practically holy. I figured that I needed to say that at some point during this countdown, so I'm saying it now.

#40 Blue on the Run (Sonic and the Secret Rings)

Even though I still have bad memories of fighting this guy as a kid, I have to admit, while his boss theme fits this game's trend of the boss themes being worse than the level themes, that doesn't make it automatically bad. In fact, I've always thought that even in songs with…

I've actually been very cautious today. I know that this is only an opinion, but I don't want to risk getting arrested by the Internet police for placing a Sonic Rush song this low on the list. Oh screw it. I've lived a good life!

#50 Back 2 Back (Sonic Rush)

When looking at this wiki's list of vocal Sonic songs, I was legitimately surprised that there were no Sonic Rush songs to fill in any spots. So, I took the liberty of taking a few songs from the game to round up the total tally from 75 to 80. Anyway, enough of explanations, on to the song. It's not exactly the highest scoring in the "meaningfulness" department (nothing in Sonic Rush is), but man is it catchy. There's really no bad song in Sonic Rush, it's just a matter of which song yo…
