Hello there. The previous message is an automated one when a user account is created on the wiki, so welcome to the Sonic News Network! To answer your inquiry, there isn't exactly a "friending" system on Wikipedia, all you have to do is ask a user to be your friend, and see if s/he'll accept! Sure, I'll be your friend. Hello, my name is Genesjs. I'm one of the Administrators on this Wiki. I have a question regarding a fan-made image you uploaded, along with another image that's 3D artwork of Cosmo: Are you the original artist of said images, or did you acquire permission from the original artist to upload and use those images here on the Wiki? If neither of these apply, then I'm afraid that the images will need to be deleted soon since they violate our art policy. If you can prove that you've either acquired permission to use the images or are the original artist him/herself before the images are deleted, then they can stay. Thank you for your time.
With acquiring permission from the original artist? IDK who he/she is, and since you're the one who's attempting to use them I think you should be the one to ask for permission to use them. Did you acquire the images from deviantART?
If you got the image from deviantART then simply make an account and ask the original artist for permission to use their artwork here on the Wiki. If you can't do that then I'm afraid there's nothing I can do.
If by "get it off" you mean "get deleted", then yes, it would seem that's going to be the fate of those particular image files you uploaded since you're apparently unable to acquire permission from the original artist to use them.
Hey there, again, I'm here to inform you about Duplicated Files. Recently, a series of photos you uploaded to the wiki were duplicates of ones that already exist. You posted these on a recent blog of yours regarding Sonic the Fighters, I ended up deleting the duplicates and replacing them with the original files. In the future, please use pre-existing images on pages and blogs, if you need any help with that, you can always use the search box and begin typing a name of an images (Example: "File:Sonic"). Thanks! SeriousSamHeavy 21:51, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
Hello. I must ask you to not upload entire comic issues onto the Wiki like you've done with Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 172 as doing so can be seen as copyright violation by Archie and other parties and render the Fair Use clause useless to us. These are the kind of comic images that are allowed here on this Wiki: partial page scans and a limited number of full-page scans (if the latter must be uploaded, please upload only a maximum of 6 scans/downloads). Thank you for your time.
EDIT: I must also ask you to please not ignore any potential warnings that are given to you when uploading images, which I have assumed you've done because several of the comic images you've uploaded replaced other images that were being used in our Mainspace articles. Every single image from the issue that you uploaded has been deleted because they either made copyright violations and/or they replaced images that have already been uploaded to the Wiki, so if you wish to upload the first 6 pages of issue 172 again I must ask you to rename the files appropriately (like "Archie STH 172 Page 1" and so on) so no further images are accidentally replaced. Again, thank you for your time.
Me again. Please don't forget to look at the previous message I left you. Anyway, I've come to tell you that the image below this message, despite being edited by you, is not allowed to be uploaded to the Wiki unless you got permission to both edit and upload the artwork here. Would I be correct in assuming that you didn't get permission to do either of these things for this image as well?
If you can't get permission to upload/edit the image, then yes, it will have to go, along with any other fan images you've uploaded without consent from the original artists. I'm sorry, but that's the rules.
What, the artist? If the artist was here he/she would've most likely have notified either you, me or one of the other Admins about you uploading their artwork by now, and considering that hasn't happened then I personally can assume that said artist(s) don't come here.
I'm only going to ask this one more time: Give me a link to the artist whom you got the pictures from that shows somewhere on their profile that you acquired permission to upload/recolor their artwork for this Wiki. If you do not do this within 24 hours from now or within the next message you send me, I will refuse to continue discussing this matter with you and delete every single fan-made image that you've modified/uploaded from dA or any other original art website onto this Wiki. I'm growing weary of repeating myself to you.
I'm also going to ask you to stop uploading duplicate files to the Wiki. The image below was already present on the Wiki before you uploaded a smaller version of it, and image sizes can be modified on individual pages. You've already been told by Sacorguy to not do this, so if you continue after this second warning than a ban will be issued to you.
No you don't. You could've placed the original file on your Userpage and added "XNumberofPixels" to modify the size of the image, allowing you to make it bigger or smaller.
This is the image at it's normal size. Add, say, 150px after "png" ([[File:Userbox- Loves Tails.png|100px]]) you'll get this:
This is the exact same image as before, only now it appears smaller.
Anyway, the fan-art, both recolored and non-recolored, have been removed because you've failed to provide evidence that clearly showed that you've acquired permission to use the original artist's artwork despite being asked to do so numerous times. If you're truly unable to ask permission from various artists to use their artwork here for any reason then I advise that you don't upload such artwork here ever again, so that way you won't get into further trouble.
The only reason I'm getting on your case about all this, among other things, is because as time goes on you're making it quite apparent (to me, at least) that you did not read our policies before joining this site. You've uploaded artwork that didn't belong to you without asking for permission, and our art policy states that uploading fan-art without permission from the original artist if you yourself aren't the original artist is not allowed. You failing to show that you have permission to use the artwork, since you aren't the original artist, despite being asked to multiple times and being given instructions on how to acquire permission does not help your case in the slightest. If you ignoring our rules and facing potential consequence for such carelessness makes us the bad guys here and justifies you leaving then by all means leave, because we won't bother trying to explain to you why you're in the wrong if you truly feel that way.
I repeat: I gave you instructions on how to "get it off" multiple times, so don't tell me that you still don't know how to do it because you should. I'm not going to argue with you about this any further. Also, I saw that you uploaded a smaller version of the following image to the Wiki. I'm sorry, but if you're going to continue ignoring any warnings Administrators leave you on uploading duplicate files then you're going to have to suffer the consequences. You have been banned for 1 week, but you can still edit your Talk page. If you wish to continue editing here in the near future then take this time to read over and memorize our rules, as following them will greatly reduce your chances of getting into trouble around the Wiki. Good day.
There isn't a rule that states that you need a minimum of 100 edits to upload images onto the Wiki, so I don't see a problem with uploading any now, so long as they follow our policies regarding images.
Please don't add character artwork to those pages; those pages discuss only the boss, not the character. Only pictures of the actual fight should be added to those articles. Twinkle SnowUnleashChristmas201321:15, January 27, 2013 (UTC)
