This move exists primarily or exclusively within the Post-Super Genesis Wave continuity.
Information in this article may not be canonical to the storyline of the games or any other Sonic continuity.
You may be looking for the actual video game-based move. For the version of the move before the Super Genesis Wave, see V. Maximum Overdrive Attack (Pre-Super Genesis Wave).

The V. Maximum Overdrive Attack is a technique performed by Metal Sonic in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs. It is one of Metal Sonic's offensive matrix.

Description[]

When performing the V. Maximum Overdrive Attack, Metal Sonic charges up a large amount of energy and envelops himself in a yellow energy sphere, before shooting himself forward at incredible speeds with enough force to penetrate metal craters. However, a drawback to the V. Maximum Overdrive Attack is that its cost performance leaves Metal Sonic vulnerable to attacks once it wears off.

History[]

VMODAClassic

Metal Sonic attacks Sonic and Amy using the V. Maximum Overdrive Attack, from Sonic the Hedgehog #290.

Metal Sonic first used the V. Maximum Overdrive Attack to intercept Sonic the Hedgehog and Amy Rose in Collision Chaos. Later on, Metal Sonic would use this move a few times in a race against Sonic in Stardust Speedway.[1]

In a fight against Sonic and Mega Man, after getting slammed onto the ground, Metal Sonic rose up, and used the V. Maximum Overdrive Attack to push Mega Man through the Wily Egg. However, Sonic ran into Metal Sonic which caused the Badnik to lose hold of the blue bomber.[2]

Metal Sonic later used this move several times in an attack against Sally Acorn, Amy Rose, Cream the Rabbit and Cheese the Chao.[3]
