Vile is a character that appears in the Mega Man comic series, and the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs, published by Archie Comics. A Reploid from the year 21XX in Mega Man's World, Vile was originally a Maverick Hunter under the command of Sigma, though he had the reputation for causing trouble. He was briefly imprisoned by the Hunters prior to the uprising of Mavericks under Sigma, who released his former underling and gave him the option to join his forces. Vile chose to do so, pitting himself against the likes of X and Zero.
After a number of defeats, Sigma resurrected Vile yet again, and he led the defense of Sigma's latest fortress when X, Zero, and a force of Maverick Hunters came calling. While X went ahead to attack Sigma, Vile engaged his two teammates. Though Zero and Axl proved formidable opponents, in the end it was the unexpected arrival of Silver the Hedgehog who halted Vile's rampage.
Vile is an arrogant, violent individual who will not hesitate to use any means necessary to achieve victory. He despises enemies who take cover during battle, though presumably this is mainly because it makes them more difficult for him to destroy.
Powers and abilities
Vile is armed with a powerful shoulder cannon with devastating firepower, and possesses another cannon on his left arm. His right arm has been replaced by an energy mace.
- The appearance Vile has during Worlds Unite is based on an unused concept artwork for Vile from the first Mega Man X game.
