The White Park Zone, from Sonic the Hedgehog #36.

In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing, White Park Zone (often called White Park) is a snowy region on Sonic's world where Chao Races and lots of goods can be found. After discussing how to fix E-123 Omega with her friends, Amy Rose took Rouge the Bat, Cream the Rabbit, Cheese, Gemerl and Omega to White Park Zone in her Pink Cabriolet to compete in the local White Park Chao Racing Circuit and trade robot pars with the reigning Chao racing champion, Clutch the Opossum. On the way, they came across Shadow the Hedgehog, who was in the area looking for Eggman activity. Amy offered Shadow to come along to help fix Omega, but Shadow declined and left.[1]

A short trip later, the group arrived at White Park Grand Chateau, where Rouge began using the alias "Facet" to pass though people, before signing Cheese up for the Chao Races. When Cheese passed the race, Clutch the Opossum introduces himself and offered Rouge to talk shop with him after seeing Cheese's competent display. Accepting the invitation, Rouge eventually came to Clutch's messy penthouse suite. Upon meeting Clutch, he offered Rouge, whom he know who she was from the start, a deal: if Cheese won the races tomorrow, he would give her everything he wanted from his collection in exchange Cheese. Rouge said she would think about it and left. Meanwhile, Omega took notice of how she would hand over Cheese since they were not hers. Rouge replied that she did not plan to do that and told Omega that she had a plan that required his help. Moments later, Rouge met a hooded figure that she knew had been following her and suspected was one of Clutch's cronies. However, she was surprised to see that the person was Dr. Starline when he took his hood off.[1][2] Starline proceeded to hypnotize Rouge into forgetting their encounter while also planting a subliminal suggestion in her mind that would compel her to kidnap Tails for him later.[2] Soon after, on top of a roof, Shadow was contemplating that his search had been a bust until he noticed the hooded Starline on the rooftop. Starline himself ended up knocking Shadow off the roof when he tried to catch them.[1] Surviving his fall, Shadow returned to the White Park Chateau the next day and paid a visit to Clutch's suite, where he found Omega and a cage in which Chao were kept. Cheese, on the other hand, took part in the subsequent race and won, qualifying for the semifinals. Rouge's group then went to Clutch, pretending that they wanted to trade Cheese for the spare parts they needed. Shadow, however, appeared and knocked out Clutch, before showing Rouge's group the cage with the trapped Chao, which Cream wanted to free while Rouge called for Sonic and Tails to help choosing the E-100 Series parts.[3]

Sonic and Tails soon after arrived in White Park Zone with Belle, with Sonic and Belle being dropped off at the White Park Grand Chateau while Tails went to meet up with Rouge. At the chateau, Sonic and Belle were brought to Clutch's suite by Amy. There, Belle would help Cream try to free the Chao while Sonic left to get Rouge and Tails. After Sonic left though, Clutch recovered and activated the Badniks in his suite and had them attack the heroes before escaping himself. Meanwhile, Rouge, acting upon Starline's suggestion, had attacked Tails and brought him to Starline, who tied them both up in one of the moving carts on White Park Zone's roller coaster. When Sonic found them, Starline knocked Sonic off-balance. Fortunately, Shadow arrived in time to save Sonic, and the two pursued Starline and their friends together. However, Starline triggered an avalanche above the White Park Grand Chateau, thus forcing Sonic and Shadow to choose between saving their friends or the innocent at the chateau.[2] Eventually, upon Tails' insistence, Sonic left to stop the avalanche while Shadow stayed to have a rematch with Starline. Rouge, however, managed to free herself and have Omega startle Starline with a loud and sudden alarm. This made Starline lose his balance and fall off the roller coaster. Shadow was then persuaded by Rouge to go help Sonic stop the avalanche. Meanwhile, Tails and Rouge flew to the chateau to warn the guests of the avalanche. At the avalanche, Sonic and Shadow tried to block with a barricade made of felled trees, but it was not successful. Meanwhile, Tails and Rouge arrived at the chateau where Amy and Gemerl, with the help of the Clutch's Chao, had managed to destroy Clutch's Badniks. After that, they took the parts they needed for Omega and evacuated the guests to the upper floor of the chateau. Dr. Starline tried to block the heroes' path, however, but was eventually defeated and buried by the avalanche he had created. In addition, because the chateau had been built to withstand such natural disasters, nobody got hurt when the avalanche hit the chateau. In the aftermath, Sonic and SHadow dug themselves out of the snow and reunited with their friends and allies.[4]
