The Wii is a video game console made by Nintendo in 2006, for which ten Sonic the Hedgehog series games were available, the first being Sonic and the Secret Rings. Its successor is the Wii U.

Virtual Console
The Virtual Console is an internet download service for the Wii. It provides games from past systems as well as original games known as WiiWare. Points must be purchased either online through the Shop Channel or through cards acquired at local retailers. In the United States, one point is equal to one cent. You can insert a credit card and use it buy games as well.

- On the Wii, Sonic makes 5 (7 if you count his cameo in Samba De Amigo Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl) crossover appearances and 6 appearances in Sonic games.
- Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I is so far the only Sonic game for the Wii Ware, as its sequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II released on other systems besides WiiWare.
