Wolfie[2] is a character that appears in the Sonic Boom series. He is an anthropomorphic wolf who lives in Hedgehog Village.[3] He is also a member of Hedgehog Village's Village Council.

Appearance[]

Wolfie is an anthropomorphic wolf of average build and height, only slightly less than a head shorter than Knuckles. He has dark gray fur with peach skin on his front torso, inner ears and muzzle, and possesses light blue eyes. His muzzle in particular is medium-long with a black nose similar to Sonic's. He also has a long bushy tail with a light gray tip. His attire consists of a red cap with a long bill, white gloves with a round clip in the cuffs, and green shoes with rapping. He also carries a red drawstring backpack.

In the Archie Comics, Wolfie's fur color is changed to cream, similar to Bark the Polar Bear's fur color, and he has spikes on the back of his head.

SB S1E01 Sidekick Tryouts

Wolfie at Sonic's sidekick tryouts.

Wolfie was one of the candidates coming to Sonic's sidekick try-outs, but he never made the cut.[4] After a trip to Meh Burger,[5] Wolfie got to be in the Gogoba edition of the "Pawn Shop Wars" TV show with the Gogoba Chief.[6]

When T.W. Barker's Circus of Wonders was in town, Wolfie came by for a show.[7] While Wolfie was in the Village Center, he got a free sample of Eggman's Tomato Sauce from Eggman which was ruined by Sonic who thought it was poisoned. However, Sonic would prove it was save to Wolfie (although it was a part of an evil scheme).[8] Later in the village, Wolfie heard an excruciating noise when Sonic ran by.[9]

S1E21 25

Wolfie trying to deliver deli products.

As Wolfie was bringing deli products down the delivery route, he found the road blocked by a Granifer Giganticus. Thankfully, Team Sonic quickly lured the giant away.[10] When the Lightning Bolt Society then took over Eggman's lair, Wolfie got caught amidst the random robot attacks the group launched on the Village. Wolfie thus had to flee for his life (while stopping at Meh Burger once) until Team Sonic and Eggman stopped the Lightning Bolts.[11] When Wolfie was later eating at Meh Burger with Wild Cat, he got sucked into the Battle of the Buns between Chez Amy and Meh Burger. Over the next period, Wolfie regularly switched between these establishments, depending on their gimmicks, before settling at Chez Amy until Eggman destroyed it.[12] Wolfie late met Swifty the Shrew and was drawn in by his attitude. Wolfie thus rooted for Shifty in his race against Sonic, who lost to the shrew and got banished from the Village as per their agreement. However, Wolfie was betrayed by Swifty when Eggman revealed he was a robot working for him. As Swifty robots ravaged the Village, Wolfie gathered with the Village Council and had Sonic brought back, who got rid of Eggman's army.[13]

While Knuckles served as deputy mayor, Wolfie got him to approve a permit to built a lemonade factory in the Village, but ended up in an argument about his rights with other villagers possessing permits overlapping his.[14] A few days after a trip to Meh Burger, Wolfie came to the premiere of Eggman's movie at Eggman's lair which ended in a failure on Eggman's behalf when the movie failed to enslave the audience through hypnotism.[15] Wolfie was later among the villagers who got outraged at Sonic for "insensitively" calling Mike the Ox "just a guy." He was further enraged when he saw Sonic had gotten Mike hurt and then "insulted" him. However, Sonic eventually redeemed himself.[16] Another time, Wolfie saw Dave the Intern tumble through the Village in Octopus Bot as he sought to fight Sonic.[17]

SB S1E38 Village New Year's Eve

Wolfie in the Village Center on New Year's eve.

On New Year's Eve, Wolfie joined the festivities in the Village Center, where he got to socialize with Diane Aardvark and Gunther. Amidst this, Eggman used his Slow Motion Machine to slow down time long enough for him to beat Sonic in something before New Year, though Wolfie never saw Eggman's victory as it happened too fast for him to see.[18] Wolfie later saw Eggman argue with Leroy the Turtle at the post office, but left when Eggman summoned Decimator Bot. Following a meal at Meh Burger, he had a laugh when he saw Tails dance in the Village Center.[19]

When Bro-Down Showdown held auditions, Wolfie showed up with T.W. Barker. When the pair was rejected for being "too ugly" though, Wolfie remained to see the show live. However, he fled once Obliterator Bot attacked the set.[20] As Wolfie later read the news and learned Knuckles had become a celebrity for his trash can trend, he would shower the echidna with admiration and adoration during his time of fame.[21] Some time later, Wolfie came to the Robot Battle Royale, where he saw Eggman steal Tails' Hypnobot at the end.[22] Then, when a heatwave later hit Seaside Island, Wolfie would spent his time chatting with the customers at Meh Burger.[23] He would also come to Puppy Con where he saw Eggman's fruitless agenda to steal a rare playing piece.[24]

Wolfie and the villagers hailing Team Sonic.

Wolfie and the town were soon attacked by Eggman's new Obliterator Bot which Team Sonic stopped, earning them the Greatest Role Model of All Time Award. However, Wolfie's following visit at Meh Burger got delayed by the heroes trying to live up to their award.[25] Another time, when Knuckles and the new villain Charlie clashed, Wolfie watched them fight from the sidelines, with Knuckles claiming victory.[26]

Season two[]

One night, Wolfie showed up at the scene of movie star Tommy Thunder's "victory" over Obliterator Bot.[27] Hearing later from Dr. Eggman in the Village Center that an asteroid would impact the earth, Wolfie came to buy a spot in Eggman's bunker to ride out the impending apocalypse in. Although Wolfie did not get a spot, Team Sonic would stop the asteroid.[28] While passing through the Village later on, Wolfie would pay Sticks no mind when she tried out as the town crier.[29] Wolfie was later in the Village Center where he, to his bewilderment, saw Sonic travel to another plane of existence.[30] Another time, Wolfie would see Sonic elaborate on his career on Career Day before picking up a package at the post office.[31] Later hypnotized by Dreamcaster's TV broadcasts, Wolfie became Dr. Eggman's zombie slave. He and the hypnotized villagers would thus attack Sticks when she came to the rescue, but were freed when Team Sonic foiled Eggman's plan.[32]

Village celebrates!

Wolfie and the villagers celebrate.

Upon seeing Tails' new Village defense repel Eggman, Wolfie would celebrate with the villagers.[33] Wolfie soon after took a job as Eggman's minion at Eggman's job fair to earn some cash. While Wolfie grasped the housework at Eggman's lair, he proved too disobedient for Eggman's taste during their trip to the Ice Cream Vendor. His resignation came when he fled after being ordered to fight Sonic.[1] Later on, Wolfie got inspired to buy some Fuzzy Puppy figurines from Orbot and resell one of them to a mystery buyer, unaware that Orbot was manipulating him.[34] Wolfie would also have a game of volleyball with Tails, Sticks and Wild Cat until Sonic came in his mech suit and popped their ball.[35] When the Village then had a power outage, Wolfie would eventually begin rioting, but he calmed down once Team Sonic got the power back on.[36]

Learning that their village was named after Sticks' evil ancestor, Jebediah Badger, Wolfie began scorning Sticks. Eventually wanting the town renamed, he agreed to a referendum between Amy and Eggman's name propositions at a town meeting. Along the way, Wolfie got enticed by Eggman's campaign. After Eggman used the referendum to get elected as Village leader though, Wolfie saw Eggman attempt to destroy the Village, only to have his plan ruined and power revoked by Team Sonic.[37] Another time, Wolfie would drop by a contest between Dave the Intern and one of Meh Burger's new robot employees (which Dave lost) and learn of a party at Meh Burger.[38] Wolfie also showed up at Mr. Slate's unveiling of the Fregosi Sapphire, but ran away when Eggman appeared to steal the gemstone.[39] Not long after, he would make a trip to the movies.[40] When Tails later seemingly proved Muckfoot's existence with a photo, Wolfie would praise Tails as a hero and take part in the ensuing Muckfoot Mania. However, he would scorn Tails when the fox showed that his "Muckfoot" was just Knuckles covered in mud.[41]

YouKnowWhatIsWeird

Wolfie and Wild Cat under attack.

Wolfie was soon forced to run for his life again when Eggman's malware-infected robots went on an unparalleled blitzkrieg in the Village.[42] As the attack pressed on, Wolfie would cower in fear until Knuckles inspired him to help Team Sonic and the villagers fight the robots. Ultimately, the Village prevailed when the robots withdrew.[43] Despite this experience, Wolfie ended up resuming his old ways by running away from Eggman once he returned to the Village to wreck havoc.[44] Wolfie later became a fan of the Lightning Bowler Society after seeing them beat the Pin Dashers. He thus came to the Lightning Bowlers' next public appearance as the team rose to stardom.[45] Another time, when Eggman earned a real doctorate, Wolfie watched his graduation ceremony.[46] Wolfie would some time afterward run from T.W. Barker and his robots when the villain was on the warpath.[47]

Back in the Village, Wolfie got pulled into an anti-gravity field by Cubot, who was now crazy and able to control gravity, when he came through town. Not long after, Cubot began taking him towards space. Thanks to Sonic and Tails though, Wolfie was brought down to earth again before he died from asphyxia.[48] Wolfie later went to Meh Burger twice before going to a soccer match between Team Sonic and Team Cybonic that would decide the closed rec center's fate. When Team Sonic won, Mayor Fink declared that the rec center would be reopened, much to Wolfie's joy.[49] When Race Day arrived several months later, Wolfie would watch said event's auto race competition at its site.[50] He soon after almost got lured into a scam by T.W. Barker had Sonic not intervened. Getting into Scrambler after that, Wolfie was able to attend an exclusive promotional event through it. When Eggman shut down Scrambler however, Wolfie would shower the doctor with contempt.[51] He would later order take-out from Meh Burger, which was delivered to him by Sonic.[3]

SunflowerSonic

Back in the Village Center, Wolfie saw Sonic walk around in a sunflower costume. A swarm of Bee Bots led by Tails appeared immediately after, prompting Wolfie to make his escape.[52] Some time after, he paid a visit to the library before going to Meh Burger a few days later.[53] Wolfie soon after tried ordering ice cream from the local vendor, only for the vendor's new employee, D-Fekt, to mess up his order. Following that, he went to the Village's open mic night. Wolfie later went to open mic night again, only to run away from there after D-Fekt arrived and became excessively hostile.[54] Returning to the Village Center again, Wolfie would boo at Eggman when he got defeated by Sonic once more, until he got scared off by the egg-shaped scientist. After this experience, Woflie would preoccupy himself with a handheld game. He soon after went on a stroll, only to run for the hills when Shadow showed up and began beating up Tails and Knuckles.[55]

Wolfie Archie Comics

Wolfie, from Sonic Boom #5.

Wolfie was amongst the villagers who went to Dr. Eggman's Eggtoberfest carnival. When the rides would not work though, Wolfie joined an angry mob who made Eggman fix the problem. Regardless, Wolfie still saw this carnival as Eggman's attempt to buy his trust, prompting Eggman to sic his army on the villagers, which Team Sonic stopped.[2]

Personality[]

When properly motivated, Wolfie can be a dedicated laborer, although he recognizes when he is in too deep.[1] Wolfie is also someone not easily bought as he recognized Eggman's attempt to buy his trust by putting on the Eggtoberfest, something he did not take kindly to.[2]
