YTV is a Canadian English-language specialty channel aimed at youth, available nationwide through cable and satellite television. Presently, it is wholly owned by Corus Entertainment and Shaw Media. The "YTV" name is thought by some viewers to be an abbreviation for "Youth Television", however the channel's website denies this. The channel operates two time-shifted feeds, East (Eastern Time) and West (Pacific Time).
YTV and "Sonic X", others
With 4Kids Entertainment, YTV had acquired rights to the program at 2005, the same year the series aired in the US by 4Kids on the Fox network. In 2008, after 4 years YTV drops the program and its rights. As of now, YTV and Sonic does not have any affiliations nor not mentioned. Prior to 2005, YTV had rights by DiC Entertainment to air "Sonic The Hedgehog" TV series. (aka SatAM) They dropped the rights as the show ended production.
